Day 28. Gina K. Designs

Hello Friends it’s me again! Are you loving the Olympics? Having a good weekend?

Today I have some partial coloring and oh how I wished I could have finished but, I will for tomorrow promise.

When it comes to stamping my happy place is when I have time to stamp a little scene and mix some stamp sets to shake things up. When I took The Coloring Challenge Road Trip to Wisconsin at Gina K. Designs store called  VILLAGE PAPER & INK  in Greendale I loved everything about the store especially Gina and the vibe in the store. The card samples were knock outs so naturally I had to buy lots of stamps. Which brings me to today’s coloring.

I love making patterns and this Damask stamp set was perfect for me. Even though I have some cupcake stamps I just had to add these called, “Sweet Thing” .

How many times do you buy a holiday stamp and then you don’t have time to use it for the holidays? Well … that didn’t stop me from using this stamp set called  Peaceful Holidays. The beautiful birds can be used in so many ways especially to deliver a banner for a cupcake.

I have a quick quick video showing my process. See you tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

I thought I would share this photo just in case you want to see the before I started coloring. 🙂

Wow! I love how you colored the bird! Beautiful! Also, what a great way to make a background! I’ll have to see what stamps I have that might work!

I stopped the video about 12 times to see how you coloured the bird, it is stunning and I learned a lot from this short moment of colouring.
Never thought of stamping backgrounds if the stamps where not in one set, just did it this challenge for the first time.
I love your great idea’s and the way I improve my colouring and stamping by only watching you playing around. Thanks for that Kathy!

I would consider THIS finished! One item, beautifully colored to star, and let the rest be background…but I can’t wait to see what else you will do (smile).

I don’t know what happened in my e-mail but your e-mail was huge in my in-box! It was the only e-mail that was that big so it must have been something on your end. No worries though.
I am always amazed at you’re coloring. I love how you did that bird. It looks realistic but then that is also the stamp. Some stamps just stamp so clean and clear and some are messy and you have to stamp them a second time to get a clean and clear image or you have to fix a mistake. I love the cupcake! What a great card!
I just had to make my uncle, my mom’s brother, an 87th birthday card. I have some great birthday stickers so I made the card that way without a stamp or any coloring. The card is going to get to him late because the day we were supposed to mail it we had cold and sleet. Our driveway was a sheet of ice so I didn’t get out to the mailbox either at all or way after the mailman came. I like making birthday cards. I just made a valentine’s card for my niece in FL. I didn’t know what to do then remembered I had a tiny hearts background stamp so I stamped it and then used some Elizabeth Craft stickers that you can color in. It looks so pretty! I am going to take a photo of it and send it to you so you can post it. I want to make a few more for my sisters and I have to make one for a card swap.
Today I didn’t get to do any coloring. We had heavy rain today, about 3 inches or so and our cellar got water in it. I spent a lot of the day using my dad’s wet/dry vac and then dumping out the water. I’m not done but I will finish it tomorrow. I don’t want to do that again and I hope I can fix it so it doesn’t happen again.

Forgot to mention I love the Olympics! Being a dancer I love to watch skating but I love to see all of it and see how many medals we will get. It was amazing to watch our snowboarder, who is young, get the gold and stand up with his hand over his heart when they played The National Anthem. Go team USA!
