Ombre Background

IMG_2853

Hello Friends, Wishing you a happy Valentines Day even though it’s really a “Hallmark” holiday 🙂 With that said it’s a good way to remind us all to spread a little more love.

Papertrey Ink is having a ombre color challenge so I thought it would be fun to try and make something quick.  The flowers don’t fit in that category but, I always like to put a spin on things. I am so happy that the flower pots are still in stock and not discontinued. Some of my favorite cards have been created with the flower pots. Here is one of them & here & here. Oh my here and here too. See…I really do love the die. (to find all of these cards I just used the search bar on my blog and put in flower pots. It’s a really useful tool so thought you might want to try it one day)

For the background I used these watercolors and this paper.

The dry embossing with this made my background look so pretty. Have you tried Spellbinders embossing folders? They are large and reversible so I always find myself grabbing them. You can check out their styles here. I will be back soon with Simon Says Stamp MARCH Card Kit Giveaway so stay tuned. It’s my all time favorite kit.

Have a lovely day and thanks for popping in. Hugs, Kathy

Love the effect the embossing adds to the ombre background. It so happens I also played along in this PTI challenge with what may well be one of my quickest cards ever. Better yet, I love how it turned out.
Enjoy what’s left of your Sunday.
