Day 4. Tablecloth Inspiration

Hello Friends! Welcome to Day 4. Thank you again and again for all of participation and  inspiration! Currently I  am blocked on Instagram and that is so frustrating and … just arrggggg! It pains me that I can’t comment!

A few months ago I picked up Amy  Tangerine’s cute and adorable watercolor set. I have been traveling with them but, didn’t use them yet. I love that it’s easy to pop into my carry on and super light weight. I finally made myself sit down and open them up. This illustration by me was drawn during the last coloring challenge or around that time.

Most of you probably know who Amy Tangerine is  but, if you don’t  she is full of sunshine and is such a sweet  authentic soul.  If you are a beginner at watercoloring and or travel a lot this cute little set is for you. If you have watercolors always use what you have. Here is Amy’s shop.

In my Day 1. using Sharpie post a few people mentioned they need to buy Sharpies …  no you don’t. I only used them in case  some of you don’t have other options and might have a few Sharpies in their  junk drawer.

Fortunately for Instagram I dug up this photo with my inspiration for this illustration. My tablecloth! As you all know inspiration is everywhere. I made a big effort to change the design so it wasn’t a direct copy.

This is how  it looked after the watercoloring. I love that the watercolor set has a black marker in it and it works beautifully on watercolor paper so it was easy to add doodles.

Here is a side by side.  Have a great day and I will see you tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

Gorgeous design! I hate when they block us on Instagram for commenting also. I let them know why I am. I think I have had it unblocked sooner a couple of times this way.

Hi Elaine, I am sorry I wasn’t more clear. The flower is just a doodle drawing and not available as a stamp or anything. So happy you like it 🙂

Your illustration is super gorgeous Kathy. I can remember that you draw this illustration although I don’t recal when it was. I remembered because your inspiration was a table cloth and I had in that same time made a card inspired by a duvet cover I saw in a commercial on tv.
I love that you always give your one twist on something, just like this illustration and how you draw it, beautiful coloured it and give it “eyelashes” ( I love that you call them that).
Thank you so much for sharing, I hope Instagram will some day love this challenge, happy colouring and see you tomorrow .

Wow, you drew this? It is so cool! I find a lot of inspiration everywhere like you, however I don’t try to draw them because drawing is not my thing at all! You do way better than I do. What I like to do is take a really pretty greeting card that I received, cut it out & embellish it & make it my own. My sister is a photographer & she used to make calendars. She is letting me use her photos from old calendars to make cards. I’ve used some of them before & they look so cool! As long as I give her credit, I can use them for my cards.
Thank you for all that you do for us!

Love water coloring but not very good at it yet! I’m like most who need to find more time in the day and I’m retired! Very pretty. Appreciate taking your time out of your day to show us how it is done. TFS
