Day 12 & Day 13

Hell0 Friends, How are you all? Those of you in CA my heart goes out to you and I am so worried about everyone …. I tear up every time I watch the news coverage and hear the stories. It just doesn’t seem appropriate to me to me blogging right now so I am just going to show my photos and call it a night. I hope you all understand & coloring is a good thing to take my mind off my worries.

See you tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

Kathy, I know exactly what you mean about California. I grew up somewhat near where the Woolsey Fire is and it’s just devastating. Moving on, your shell wreath card is absolutely stunning and gorgeous. I am in awe of your talent! This should be framed. and admired for years to come. Wow!! And the rose….another gorgeous flower. Oh to have such talent. Thank you SO much for the time and dedication to your craft and for sharing it with us. Hugs!

Kathy, I know what you mean about California, although I don’t live in the USA but in The Netherlands, I shudder by seeing the new about CA here on TV. CA people know that we are thinking of you❤️

Oh my Kathy day 12, I saw your completed wreath yesterday on Instagram and thought then and still thinking it’s breathtaking, incredible awesome ❤️

And your beautiful rose on day 13 so amazing and it”s not showing at all that you never used Distress Oxides❤️

Kathy your creations are so very beautiful! Gorgeous! and the distress oxides look fabulous!

I know how it feels with what is happening in California… it is so very sad!
Greece suffered a similar tragedy this summer. A hole city was burned completely and 120 people died trying to escape or by trying to save their properties…
This hole situation makes me extremely sad….

    Sending you hugs,
    Olga

I’m with you Kathy, watching the news from CA just breaks my heart. I just keep praying for these people, often as I color. I’ve been coloring, with Birthdays and Christmas and work, I haven’t posted anything but have taken photo’s. One of these days I intend to post–much of it is my 75 Christmas cards–I got the fronts all stamped and embossed and each has just a little bit of coloring to make them pop. Your Oxide ink rose is amazing, I’ll have to try water coloring with re-inkers. Thanks for hosting these color challenges. I saw my dentist last week and wowed him with a video I took of a waterfall card I made for my great nephew’s 2nd BD. His comments were interesting, he had no idea people still made handmade cards! I think he’s hoping I’ll send him one!

    • Kathy Racoosin says

      November 15, 2018 at 2:39 pm

      It is devastating, Sheri.
I am thrilled that you are coloring; your dentist story made me laugh out loud! Thank you for sharing that story and making me smile 🙂

These are absolutely breathtaking Kathy. I hear you…it’s gut wrenching to hear what’s happening everywhere. Crafting is my cope. I have to say, though, through the darkness, I’ve heard of many acts of kindness and unbelievable acts of love. It brings me hope when there are so many soft hearts and acts of courage. Thank you for creating and sharing your work and encouraging us to do the same!

    • Kathy Racoosin says

      November 15, 2018 at 2:40 pm

I can’t believe the kind of fires California is having. It breaks my heart to hear of the deaths, missing,
and number of homes lost!! I live in Canada, British Columbia, we have fires here too but nothing like
    what is happening there!!
Your shell wreath is utterly amazing.
Using the re-inkers for your rose looks like so much clearer colour. Am I imagining this?

    • Kathy Racoosin says

      November 15, 2018 at 2:44 pm

      It is so tragic, Candy.

Hugs to you… it’s hard when you have an empathetic soul…I tend to get the feels real hard too. And there is so much these days it’s just overwhelming… but what you do is important… it’s one of those good things that we can look forward to… I’m thankful for you and all of the wonderful artful people I’ve met along the way… I must say these are SO sweet and beautiful… I’m going to definitely have to try coloring with the distress oxides… it is such a soft velvety look and the colors you’ve used… that rose.. and then those shells..and that ribbon!

    • Kathy Racoosin says

      November 15, 2018 at 2:47 pm

Yes, Lisa, sometimes I wish I had a tougher shell. But it is part of what makes us who we are , I suppose.
Thank you for your kind words regarding the shell wreath and my rose card 🙂

Hi Kathy, I’ve been watching it on the news and the fire videos are terrifying. Just hearing their stories of escape and loss break my heart. And then there are the firefighters…brave and exhausted. My heart goes out to all. Now for your posts. WOWWW!!! I didn’t see a link to the seashells with a bow. Who’s image is that? Love it and your color choices/coloring is so beautiful. Hope you and your family and friends have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Adding in those soft blue-greens turned thus into a masterpiece that I’d love to hang on my wall!! Love the oxide painting, too!

Wow, I know what you mean about the wildfires. It’s so awful! Both of my sisters have lived in CA at one time but they moved back to CT. We just had about 8″ of snow. CA could have used that snow to put out the fires & give them some water that they really need. I have some friends who live in CA. One lives in the mountains so she’s not effected but the air has to be bad even though they aren’t close. My other friend I’m not sure about. I’m waiting to hear from her. The last fires they had she said she could see the black smoke. They are in my prayers every night.
Your cards are colored so beautifully! I love the Hawaiian wreath! The colors are not Christmas colors but they are sea shell colors & I like that. I made one trip to Hawaii but not at Christmas & I loved it! I can’t imagine what it’s like during the holidays.
The rose is beautiful & also my mom’s name. She would love that card! It’s such a beautiful flower & almost looks real!

We have been seeing the aweful destruction on the news in CA from over here for n the UK, we can not believe how fast bush fires spread & we worry for the human & animal cost to lives every time we see it. Our hearts go out to you all in CA & we just hope for an end to it soon. How people pick up their lives again in any country after devisaton like that we never know, just know we are praying for you all now & afterwards.
Kathy your work is beautiful & hopefully at least gives a light in people’s days.x
