Felt Accents, Blog Hop & Giveaway

Hello Friends! Happy Friday to you!  I am back with a few more cards to share with some felt touches. I love the soft look and feel that the felt gives to a card especially a baby card.

Simon Says Stamp has a exciting new release called Best Days. Oh the fonts, stamps and dies make me giddy. To start at the beginning of the hop go to the Simon Says Stamp Blog here. If you are coming from May Park the happiest and most delightful person you will meet …. you are in the right place.

Babies! I love everything about a warm little bundle and I thought soft felt accents would be the warm cozy touch to pair with Welcome Little One and the Sweet Elephant.

I will be honest it’s hard to create a card without any coloring so thanks to SSS for challenging me. Ohhh the font and this die cut is so luscious! You could cut it apart and use the welcome or cut them all apart and play with the words.

Die cutting several felt circles was the beginning to my card. The circles were glued down with glossy accents or you can use any glue.

To make my card panel nice & flat I stick it in a book after I glue the circles down. Save any cut circles to use on another card. You can use a half circle on an edge or a quarter of a circle.

Twisting some twine you can fashion a cute little tail. I added another ear to give more flip and dimension to the elephant. Glossy accents was added to the eye for a little dimension.

Here you can see the ear that was bent gently and flipped up a little bit. Foam tape was added to the back of the sentiment.

It’s nice to have an extra non gender baby card on hand. While you are die cutting circles always cut a few extra for another card. Felt and paper is such a nice mix. What do you think? I colored some twine and tied it around the elephant’s trunk for a pop of color.

Using the circles for a design on my card panel … foam tape popped the negative part.

This floral called, “Even More Spring Flowers” is so dreamy but, I don’t have it yet so I pulled out this …. an old Simon faithful so I could color some flowers. Even tho this stamp is a bouquet I had fun masking it off with masking paper to create a dramatic pop of flowers.

Congrats to Simon Says Stamp for knocking this release out of the park. If I had to narrow it down these would be my some of my picks because all of these would be super fun to color. Speaking of coloring have these are awesome for watercolor with the palette right on the coloring card. OMG LOVE!

This “Thanks” word die cut is the perfect size and it’s another oh la la on the font. I love to tie twine an element on my cards if possible.

The coordinating stamp set that goes with the thanks die cut is perfection in my book. LOVE how you can emboss, cut & layer right on top of the thanks!

Loving the, love, love the felt, especially the big dots of color!!! I would be petting the card all day! LOL 🙂 Sadly, my BFF does not like felt and she is the recipient of 50% of my cards or more, so I have to find someone else who can *appreciate* the fun texture! Haha!

    Hi Kathy,
Your ELEPHANTS…….I LOVE THEM. I had never thought to pair felt with paper, but this reminds me of my son’s favorite book from when he was little. It had animals in it, and different textures were added to each animal (the duck was fuzzy, the sheep was wooly, the cat was fury). Your card reminded me of how much little ones love texture, so this has inspired me to make cards and add textures for any little ones I am making cards for. Thank you so much.
    Take care
    Tracy
