Shaker Ornament- Blog Hop

Hello Friends, How has your week been? I am super excited to be sharing the “reveal” of the Hero Arts catalog products to you and they are now available in the Hero Arts online store. Wahoo! To celebrate the revel it’s a Hero Arts Blog Hop. To start at the beginning click here.

Isn’t that angel image stunning!? It’s from the new stamp set called, “Angels” Not only do I love the illustration but, the size!  Here’s a video that shares the creative process and a few colored pencil tips.

By placing a circle die inside the ornament die, I was able to create the shaker layers and frame. It’s a great way to stretch the use of your dies to get a completely new look.

I filled the shaker with a beautiful mix of Hero Arts sequins. When you shake the sequins, a stenciled background is revealed. A fun surprise! Usually acetate is what I used to create my shaker cards but, I have run out so I have been using transparency paper. One side is a little foggy but, I have it on hand and it works beautifully.

The surprise background was super simple. Just a little Salty Ocean distress ink and the Hero Arts “Holiday Word” stencil. These are the pencils I used on the angel.
