Day 5. Coloring on the Airplane & Giveaway

Hello Friends! Can you believe that it’s Day 5. already? Where does the time go?

For my coloring today this was 85% colored on the airplane! My seat was so tight it was hard to dig in my carry on & I spilled my pencil shavings but, still managed to color… thank goodness I brought my clip board … that saved me! My friend is moving for the East Coast to the West Coast so I flew to AZ to help her.

Ok let’s talk about this awesome butterfly called, “Butterfly Blossoms” ! It’s from Reverse Confetti and from a butterfly lover I think this one is refreshing  unique!

Lots of giveaways this month and the to simplify 60 giveaways … yes SIXTY!  (plus others coming) I Decided to try something new. Feel free to let me know your thoughts.

A huge shout and thanks to all of these companies!

I feel like I am repeating myself everyday, but this is stunning!!! I love the clipboard idea, I saw you share it on Instagram previously and I used one recently while waiting at a doctors appointment to help pass the time. I found colouring a much more enjoyable way to pass the time and I wasn’t scrolling on my phone (like I usually would have).

Oh my goodness! I am usually already impressed with your coloring, but doing this no-lines on the plane is awesome! I tried to color sometimes on a plane myself, but it was so shaky and bumpy, that I decided, drawing and coloring is not for a plane. … and then imagine your pen rolls off the table…. and you need to crowl around under the seats 🙂 … I guess I prefer doing it in a nice stable place with more space, hihihi.
    Kind regards from stempelfrida

Your work is so beautiful Kathy. You inspired me to colour and Jennifer inspired me to make cards. I usually use the outside cover of a smaller size colouring book to colour on when I take my pieces with me. But I should pick up a clipboard. Less bulky and I could clip my work to it of course. One of my favourite techniques I learned from you is the terry cloth and blender ink one for “texture”. Thanks for your constant inspiration.

Your butterfly is beautiful beyond words! Your demonstration of how mobile coloring can be is an excellent example for us all. I’m sure the lighting wasn’t the greatest on the plane either although you would never know!

Oh my gosh, I love this stamp so much! I need another stamp like I need a hole in the head but this is beautiful! I LOVE what you did with this! Sometimes I do cool stuff like that & the most of the time, I don’t. I do have to say that I like what I do 99% of the time though. I have to ask you about a plane because I am flying for the first time in Dec. since 2001 & I want to bring my coloring. What can I bring exactly? Does it depend on the airlines? I wanted to bring my embroidery but that requires scissors & a needle & that might not be allowed. My pencils will be sharp but not sharp enough for them to think I will harm someone. What about gel pens? Will they get funky on a plane & maybe not work? Like I say, it’s been a real long time since I’ve flown so I really don’t know the rules. Can’t wait to see what you do tomorrow!

I love the richness of your coloring. I am also impressed with your pencil coloring. I’ve got to dig into your tutorials and learn how you get these results! What I really love about your butterfly card is that looking at the stamp itself I would never have imagined such a beautiful result from what appeared to me to be a fairly boring stamp.

I know imagining results from a stamp set is not something I excell at, so I always look for examples from other people. I never slavishly copy a card, but seeing how other people use a set of stamps sends me happily down a creative tunnel to my own conclusion. (I kind of treat recipes the same way.. I never follow a recipe. I just use it a a flavor guide. I have no idea what this says about my creative process!).

Thanks for sharing your expertise and your truly lively results.
