Altenew December 2018 Markers/Embellishments Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to Altenew’s December 2018 Release Blog Hop and Giveaway. I am super excited to join Altenew on this markers and embellishments release!  To start at the beginning of the hop go to the Altenew Card Blog.  You will find the full hop list at the bottom of my post.  I am the second stop in the hop so if you are coming from The Altenew Card Blog you are in the right place.

The Altenew markers are wonderful and I really truly love them. I love it when Alenew comes out with a new set of colors so you can imagine how delighted I was that they just released two new sets! Thank you Altenew! For the blog hop today I inked up some of the Altenew beautiful floral stamps and got to work with the markers.

Love how beautiful and colorful the packaging is and how useful the box is with the colors swatched on the outside of the box.

For both of my cards I stamped a background, colored it and added heavy weight vellum to soften the background.

This stamp called, “Engraved Flowers” is so beautiful and the set is full of lots of different flowers. Perfect for coloring!

For the flower I used a little bit of palette blending. Love how adding the green with the blue makes the flower pop! For this card I used the Primary Essential set of markers.

Adding some colored pencil detail is my favorite part of the process and any type of colored pencil will do the trick. Don’t forget a sharp pencil is your bestfriend.

Actually I love coloring a background too lol.

and …. the finished card. Love the soft look of vellum. I opted not to use a sentiment since I have been reaching for blank cards recently.

For my second card I inked up this large stamp called, “Inked Rose” … swooon!

The background was inked up with some Altenew ink and it worked beautifully with their markers.

I knew the rose was going to go in the middle of the background so why spend the time coloring the middle?

The sentiment was curved on my misti to fit on the leaf.

All you need to do is lay the sentiment on the misti and line it up where you want to go. Then take the end of the stamp and curve the end up making sure it still stays flat on the misti.

Using a black pencil I added black to random parts of the rose especially the nook and crannies! I did film me coloring this rose but, I ran out of time to edit it …. and I will try to finish it up for you all if interested.
