My very first video & some candy to celebrate

Hello Friends, I am soooooo excited to share my very first video with you and I admit right out of the gate….there is room to grow so please be patent with me. The time investment was huge but, I enjoyed the process and learned a lot & I certainly look forward to growing more in this department.

In my new video series called ” It’s in the Details” I want to show you a very simple card that if you wish you can take your stamped image a step further by adding more details to your card.

Happy Holidays take 1
These cards are super easy with one layer.  I colored right onto the red rubber with my water color markers.   To take this simple technique a step further you can use a stamp positioner (or mark exactly where you stamped the first time) and use some VersaMark & embossing powder, then stamp ON TOP of your already water colored stamped image as you can see in the video.
Happy Holidays take 2
Embossing on top of the stamped image a second time allows to you water color on top and the colors of the snowflakes won’t change or dilute. I love the soft look of this Bo Bunny 6×6 paper pack for layering and I used this nice and heavy watercolor paper for my image. I used some distress ink on my second layer of Spellbinders for the center die cuts. The beautiful scalloped boarder is from this set and such a great value.
IMG_4977

In the video I rounded my corners and added some gems then, (after filming)  I decided I needed to die  cut two chapes to create more interest in the center of my card…..but, I FORGOT that you can’t put gems through your machine so I snapped my cutting plates in two. I love the look of the crushed gems so I will try this a different way next time…lol.  To secure the newly crushed gems I added Glossy Accents on top. I really hope you like the video and I hope to share a video once a week in my series “It’s in the Details” I hope you will stay tuned. If you want to subscribe to my UTube channel click here. This card will be featured on the Penny Black blog today. I just love these delicate snowflakes on the wreath from PB. Thanks you for visiting I am so happy you stopped by. Hugs, Kathy

I cannot tell you what a delight this was to watch – it was like drinking a hot drink when you’re freezing cold & just feeling the warmth spread. I didn’t know about the embossing technique & have only done very very limited stamping using brush markers. I now have a wider selection & my husband bought me ALL the Stampin’ Up ones when I hosted a workshop so I’ll certainly be trying this technique. It helped hugely seeing how you worked too. Thank you for all the time & effort you put into this. I’ve (hopefully) subscribed to the YouTube & can’t imagine not being a Follower over here – had to unsubscribe & resubscribe last week with all the new Google Reader updates but you’re now very safely on my RSS Feeds as well as my Top Sites.
    Have a lovely evening.

I’m so happy I decided to check out your video after having finished watching one I linked to. I think you did a marvelous job on your first video. I have subscribed to both your You Tube Channel and your blog. I’m sorry I don’t have a blog or anything to spread the word on your fantastic work but I have emailed all my stamping buddies. I love the companies you design for. Penny Black has her own shelf in my stamp room – LOL! I’ve been at this for a while. Can’t wait to check out your blog some more and follow your upcoming videos.
