In the video I share the masking of the images and my process as the card came together using my markers and blending solution.
Masking adorable images and watching a scene unfold is super fun. The “Fun in the Rain” add on stamp set has so many great possibilities! Adding a stencil with some distress ink is a quick finish and allows time to add more tiny details to my images. Adding “droplets” from Pretty Pink Posh gave my one layer card more dimension. (I used both sizes ..this one too)
The new nesting cloud die cuts are perfect for some shaped cards. I would rather spend my time coloring the images and doing a quick background with a stencil. This stencil is such a beauty but, hard to see in the photo.
I wanted to create a little wagon for the baby duck to ride in but, didn’t have any wheels and racked my brain for a quick fix. Google eyes were the answer! Flipping them over and adding enamel accents on the back … it’s flat.. and it worked perfectly. After pouring some of the enamel accents on the back I set the wheels aside to dry and finish my other cards.
Another stencil was used for this background. The little pig is so cute and would cheer anyone up. I cut up the packaging from the cloud stacking dies for my shaker cards today instead of acetate. Yellow foam was used to build my layers so the sequins had plenty of room to move around.
The only problem is … photographing them is a challenge. I opted to stamp my sentiment on the background and pop my colored critters on the top of my shaker card. The “Nesting Clouds Infinity Dies” are so fun to create shaker cards with or to make a shaped card.
And … when you want to go super simple. Love the sentiments in this stamp set.

You have outdone yourself again!, Usually floral stamps catch my eye, and I don’t look much further. I LOVE this Play in the Rain set! It is so cute!
You really “quacked” me up when you mentioned you wanted to do some (Copic) “feathering” on those precious ducks! Lol
These cards are all wonderful! I have never worked with what appear to be tiny images. You aced all of these cards! I loved to see you make he puddles and turning the little umbrella into a wagon–it is priceless! We collect bears around here. I don’t believe I have one with a multi-colored, glossy umbrella! Lol
Two more things…is that a sheet of paper (the blue) that you photographed the photos on? Maybe a table cloth? Would you please let me know the designer and name? I really am drawn to it.
And, Sweetie, IF someone has accused you of using their style of coloring…let it go! I am sure it hurts a lot! You have a history with us and on the Internet and company websites to back you up! And, that should not be needed! People pick up a little bit of how to color here and there…well, everywherexcept! We know your sincere nature. We hear you give credit to people for every little thing. We know you are honest. Two people may use blues for sky colors…one doesn’t need to start using green for a sky! (An extreme example.) There is so much hurt and anger out in the world. Don’t let someone bring it into your coloring haven. We believe in you!
We’re really in your corner! You know the truth. Hold your head high. And color on…

Great cards the animals are so full of life and expression. Don’t worry about what others think. I always figure – if I know I am inspired by a particular person I give them credit . If not well very little is truly new in the art world it is just new to the individual and inspiration is a chain reaction. Only God can say he created the original of anything.
I also have to remember when someone actually creates a true copy of something I have done that imitation is a form of flattery.

This release has so many amazing items – thanks for sharing some of your ideas! These cards are gorgeous!
I think people can confuse technique and design sometimes, we all use basically the same technique because we’re using pretty much the same tools, but the way you use the techniques, how you bring things together for the final design – that part is unique to each and every person. Just look at this blog hop – everyone were using the same group of stamps, dies and stencils and everyone came up with unique and different results!

Hi Kathy, I always enjoy your videos so much. What a great kit. I am super excited the color challenge is coming up, boy do I miss it, not that I can’t color everyday without the challenge but when you have the color challenge, it makes me want to take time out to relax and color each day and I enjoy it so much.

Oh what fun in the rain! My grandson (age 9) and I enjoyed your video of making these cards. His favorite part is the duck wagon. I love it all. You are so talented. I want to win this kit soooooo bad and my grandson says he would help using these too!

Kathy your cards look amazing. You always see things in stamps that I totally missed. I am so sorry if you were accused of stealing someone’s coloring style. Your coloring is amazing and so unique and all your own I don’t see how you could be accused of stealing someone else’s look. I always tell myself when someone falsely accuses me of something, that I know the truth and so does God and that is all that matters. And then usually the real truth has a way of showing up!!! Please don’t stress over it, you are amazing and it is not worth the worry!!!
