DAY 5. Hero Arts New Kits

challenge_graphic-650-october

Hello Friends, Welcome to Day 5 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Today I am super excited to reveal Hero Arts Monthly Kit! Have you heard about Hero Arts new monthly kits? Have you seen the sneak peeks on the Hero Blog? The Kits are called, “My Monthly Hero” and today the kit will have it’s full reveal!  The product will go live in the Hero Arts online store at NOON EASTERN for purchase.

This card was created with the kit. I loved the poinsettias so much that I had to stamp a background with them. Seriously so much fun! I did some second generation stamping with the inks in the kit. (Second generation stamping is when you ink up your stamp and stamp it on some scrap paper first then stamp again on your project. This way the ink is lighter. It’t like when you apply a bright lipstick to your lips and blot some of it off to tone it down)

IMG_8771

After layering the ink and die cutting the poinsettias I hand cut a few of the poinsettias cutting over the line to make the blooms a little smaller to enhance my layers.

Check out the Hero Arts blog for a list of bloggers using this kit loaded with inspiration.MMH_logo-01

The kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone. There is not an option to subscribe at this time (maybe in the future) but, a new exclusive kit will be released on the first Monday of each month.

I’m a geek and love to learn terms, especially on English, since it’s not my native language. 😀 I always learn something new when I visit your blog. Today: second generation stamping. (happy)
Anyway, thank you for sharing your STUNNING creation. 😀

Beautiful card–this kit looks terrific. I’m greatly enjoying the coloring challenge, thanks for your kind remarks on my work. I’ve had a set of Bic markers, for a few years and didn’t ever try to color with them. I’ve been doing some things with them and it’s a bit tricky to blend them, but having some success. Because of you, I’m challenged to try new things.

    • Kathy Racoosin says

      October 6, 2015 at 11:38 pm

I’m thrilled you are inspired to try new things. Some types of paer make it easier to blend or see less strokes but the strokes can add texture too. A win win. Color your world. 🙂

    October 5, 2015 at 12:34 pm

Gorgeous! I have to get this kit! But! Is anyone else unable to establish a connection with Hero Arts webpage? Did we crash it trying to get this kit? LOL! I’ll keep trying.

Kathy, your card is right up my alley! I love making backgrounds then matching up the embellishments to the background. This will be easy with the kit b/c of the dies matching the poinsettias! Can’t wait to get it. Thanks.

    • Kathy Racoosin says

      October 6, 2015 at 12:14 am

I hope you were able to score a kit Jeanne. I heard they sold out 🙁

        October 6, 2015 at 9:03 am

        Hi Again, Kathy,
YES, I was able to get the kit. Pretty funny that everyone was bombarding the website after Sandy Allnock showed her card! But, it turned out fine. I’ve been making cards for a year by watching all you talented girls on UTube! This kit will be my first one! I’m not the “kit type” because I like to do my own thing most of the time with many different stamps/dies/ etc. But, this kit DOES look perfect for holiday cards. Thanks for answering me. I am an avid fan and love you 30 day coloring series!! ENJOY your day. Jeanne

          October 6, 2015 at 11:43 pm

Fabulous! After you use the kit take the supplies and think out of the box. The poinsettias can be colored for all seasons and not look like a poinsettia. You’ll wll be able to do your own thing for sure. Color your world happy. 🙂

Gorgeous card, Kathy. Also love that sketchy background.
This looks like a wonderful kit. I would be so tempted to buy this kit if I didn’t already have so many unused supplies. Besides, the shipping costs for getting this kit to Greece (20 dollars) are simply prohibitive.
