Day 29. abstract grid – video

challenge_graphic-4-650

Hello Friends!! How are you today? I really wanted to finish what I started yesterday and I was able to capture the process on a unedited video for you. 🙂

IMG_4192

Simon Says Stamps sold out grid stencil is back in stock…phew!! I used it to finish off my background.  The first step was to mask off the flower with some Frisket masking fluid.

To watch the video in HD or larger click here.

I love big and bold sentiments and Paper Smooches has this awesome sentiment set that is perfect for so many occasions.  The colors of distress ink I used on my background are Shabby Shutters, Salty Ocean and Mustard Seed.

Tips on watercoloring this flower you can find in this post here. Thanks for your visit today and see you tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

Sometimes its fun to be in Australia, because I get to see your inspiration first. Love how you added to this flower with the grid watercolouring.
Ohh my goodness what are we going to do, its the last day tomorrow. I hope you do something again real soon Kathy cause you just motivate me so much. I love that I have thought art each and every day, small bits and long bits have helped me get through the other moments of life.
Being the carer of my beautiful daughter and my parents who have gone into dementia at the same time sometimes feels so heavy a load but it has been like escaping into another realm each day just for a short time. Thanks Kathy

Aileen ~ My heart goes out to you! You sound like a very strong woman who takes the lemons life has thrown at you and made a delicious pitcher of lemonade! Please know that there is somebody in a small town in Vermont, USA who is sending you prayers of strength and comfort.
Would love to see what you have created for this wonderful challenge that Kathy has put together for us. Are you sharing on Instagram? If so, what is your Instagram link? Mine is meemawof3 if you would like to follow me.
It is women like you who are the Everyday Heroes who make the world a better place to live in!
Hugs and strength headed your way!

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment and your prayers. I don’t know how to use Instagram yet. All my pictures are on my Flickr account if you would like to see them. Do you show yours anywhere other than Instagram, I tried to look but as I don’t have an account it didn’t work. Hugs Aileen

Aileen, I feel exactly like you expressed. I too have my mother who is 90 and has dementia. Coloring every day and looking forward to Kathy has helped me deal with other issues each day.

Thanks Sharon. Isn’t this crafting industry wonderful, we get to talk and meet others all over the world that share their talent and their stories so we know we aren’t alone. Hugs Aileen

Bless your heart, Aileen. I feel for you. How DO you manage all that by yourself and still have time to do paper craft? I, too, get a joy out of this type of artwork and have enjoyed the 30 day challenge so much. I will be praying for you and your family. You, too, seek the Lord Jesus and He will lighten your load and give you joy unspeakable and full of glory! This is Trish in the state of Georgia, USA. We live near Atlanta.

another vote here for the unedited videos 🙂 Love this card – i really like the grid with the flowers (a lovely juxtaposition) and the color is a bit gorgeous. I don’t know how you’re keeping up with all this but it is sincerely appreciated. It’s really given me a boost. Thanks again Kathy.

oops i meant to add with all this coloring we’ve been doing i just had to order a bunch of refills for my Copics! my somewhat local store offers a refill service but I just can’t part with my markers for that long. so I guess I’ll be all set for the next challenge.

Such a fun background, Kathy, and I so love tagging along while you are all wrapped up in your creative process, although I cannot for the life of me understand how you can create and talk at the same time. I can fully understand why you’re considering to only use Instagram for your next challenge, but it would be a pity if I couldn’t share my creations because I’m not on Instagram. But maybe the people who don’t have Instagram could create a wrap-up post with all of their coloured creations at the end of the challenge, so you can still have a peek without having to read lots of individual blog posts.

This is beautiful Kathy! I have to get me one of those grid stencils, it adds a nice touch to the background. I’m in BD card craziness here, with April having 6 Birthdays and an anniversary! I have been having a wonderful time coloring, need to send you a few more instagram pics of things I’ve colored, including another journal page. I hadn’t done instagram before and did it just to do this challenge! I can’t wait for another one.

Kathy, your card/technique is awesome. I would NEVER have thought to do that. I love the finished product and I hope sometime you DO do this again. Personally, I am not on Instagram but I can appreciate where YOU are coming from. Just maybe you’ll do it here again, someday! Also, I too like the un edited version of the videos. It makes you seem even more like the rest of us. HAHA Have a great day.

I thought I had left a comment earlier but am not seeing it so will post again. LOVE how this stunning creation came together! The unedited videos are the best because I almost feel as if I am creating with you! Since I know that won’t happen in real life I will have to be happy with this. 🙂
I really hope you do this again because it has really helped me through an extremely rough month. I don’t know that I would have pulled myself out of bed each day to create this month if not for this fun challenge. Please know that you really do make a difference in so many of our lives! You are a beautiful woman, inside and out and I am honored to call you a friend and inspiration! THANK YOU!
Struggling with what I am going to create today so it might be late tonight before I post something but I WILL create today!

I love the unedited videos, Kathy. I agree that they are more personal. It is like we are in the same room and You are thinking out loud. That is an awesome way to teach. Hearing what the teacher is thinking is a powerful teaching tool. I wish your challenge could go on and on because I have enjoyed coloring with something every day. It helps knowing you will be available tomorrow. Goodness, my granddaughter helped me set up an Instagram account!! I am movin’ on! I am seeing my own improvement. I love it!

Kathy, although I fell behind on your video’s due to having to put my 76 year old neighbor into the hospital and tend to her home while she was in, I’m slowly catching up on these amazing days. You are some kind of artist for sure. I really have enjoyed each and everyone of these post from you and am saving each one so I can go back and check them out again.
