Day 18. journal doodles

challenge_graphic-4-650

Hello Friends, Finally the weekend is here and I hope you are as happy as I am 🙂 Welcome to Day 18!

IMG_3942

Today my goal was to color something on the bed and hang out with my husband…who is doing really good! Thanks for all the good wishes…they worked!  About a month ago we had a weekend away and I drew these two flowers in our hotel room.

IMG_3811

They were fun to draw and I wanted to color them in a different way than I would normally. I also wanted to use some good ole’ regular markers.

IMG_3937

Journals are supposed to be a safe place to experiment with different color combos, drawings, patterns etc. Months ago I picked up this journal and I love the way it opens and the thick pages that are great for watercoloring or regular markers. Always white dots are a must  and my fav. white gel pen always does the trick.

On another note. If you want to enter a giveaway you must leave a comment on my blog because that is where the winners name is randomly drawn. This doodling is call Zentangle’s and it is a wonderful way to help you relax from a stressed out day. When my husband was injured in Afghanistan and I was with him during his surgeries and recovery I would help out at the Soldier Family Assistance Center and we taught the soldiers this and also I worked with pouring ceramic’s for them to paint. These methods worked very well for them. Thanks for today’s post it brought back memories.

Great doodling, Kathy. I need to get a journal now, since we have been doing all this coloring. I am learning so many new things from your blogs and I just can’t keep them all in my head. LOL. But, I did get myself a white pen. Glad your husband is doing better. Sometimes just being together is great medicine to get well. (And you got to put your feet up for a while to rest)

LOVE these bold and beautiful flowers! I tried my hand at doodling and it turned into a huge mess! UGH! I will try again but not too confident in it! I am much better with a stamped, stenciled or die cut image! LOL
Glad hubby is doing well! Continuing to send well wishes! See you tomorrow!

  57. Gail Plaskiewicz says

    March 21, 2015 at 11:32 pm

I love what you did with those amazing flowers you made. I love how you did the white gel dots on the flowers. Do you find you have trouble with gel pens? I have a ton of gel pens that don’t write even though they have plenty of ink in them. I’ve done everything they tell you to do to get them to write but nothing seem to work. I may have to toss them all.
I just bought a pack of tools at a nail supply place that does dots on nails. Guess what else I will be using them on? Oh yeah, nails and coloring on paper. I’m also trying to find plain white sneakers in a size 3 (I have tiny feet) so I can decorate them and color on them.

Thanks for showing us the great work that you do. I am always impressed when I see it.

    • Kathy Racoosin says

      March 22, 2015 at 10:03 am

Thanks Gail!! Hang on to your gels I will try to do a video on them and hopefully we can get them working 🙂

Love these flowers Kathy. I have attempted a number of times to try drawing and doing designs within the petals but it just doesn’t work for me unless I am following someone else image. I am great at copying, colouring and my own ideas, not so great.
