Hello Friends, Welcome to Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit BLOG HOP today! (To start at the beginning click here.) Every month I remark on the value of the SSS kits and the delightful ingredients inside of each kit. Take a looks at this kit!! Wow!! Simon has done it again! Seriously a die, a stamp set and a full size ink pad to name a few things from the kit…crazy right!! What a perfect way to celebrate STAMPtember® and kick off fall all in one! Let’s get started with the card 🙂
For this MINI SHAKER CARD I wanted to encase the “Coffee Cup Die” with the “Barn Die Cut“. Here’s a card I made with the Barn Die cut so you can see how versatile this set is 🙂
I stamped the steam for a background with the ink called, “Khaki” that was included in the card kit. Stamped the sentiment from “What’s Brewing” and gave it a good coating with Glossy Accents. (the sentiment bubble was stamped in the new “Coral Reef” ink.)
I cut several strips of cardstock from the kit in different widths and glued them all together on some paper. Then, I proceeded to die cut the “Barn” and the “Coffee Cup Craft Die” from the striped paper I created. (Doll Pink, Burnt Orange, Dark Chocolate)
I threw together a mini shaker card from the “Coffee Cup craft die” and these acetate cards I had on hand plus some foam tape.
For this card I wanted the stamped mug to take center stage. I colored it with some Copics and used the “feathering” to be part of the design. Then I added some very simple lines with a black fine tip sharpie. The donut is a wood piece from the kit and Glossy Accents were used to coat the donut.
I thought I would share my mistake on this card and how I fixed it. Unfortunately my sentiment is always last so when I stamped it… I messed up because the cardstock wasn’t level. Instead of starting over I stamped on a strip of paper and glued it on top of the botched stamping.

Both of your cards are awesome! I love how graphic the mini shaker one looks, and the steam made for a really cool background.
