This-Is-The-Life-Blog-Hop-Banner-600_final

Hello Friends, Welcome today to Simon Says Stamps newest release BLOG HOP called “This Is The Life”!! I am so excited to share a few of the exciting products with you today. You may be arriving from the talented Stephanie Klauck’s blog you are in the right place. To start at the beginning … go to the Simon blog here.

IMG_9560

I have a VIDEO, a set of invitations, a book mark and a card …. maybe we should get started. The new die cut called,” Ice Cream Cone Parade” was the inspiration for me to consider throwing an ice cream party. First I had to make the invitations.

I hope you enjoy the video and if you do please let me know by giving me a thumbs up 🙂

IMG_9539

The “On the Road” die cut was the perfect die cut for the face of my card and to make my invitations stand out. Watch the video to see how I pulled together these festive invites.

IMG_9471

If you like your ice cream super cold with lots of ice crystals you can get a realistic look by brushing the Rock Candy Distress Stickles on the felt. Give it plenty of time to dry 🙂

IMG_9479

When the felt is dry… die cut the ice cream from the “Ice Cream Cone Parade” and organize them in sequence so you can assemble your invitations easily.

IMG_9472

Print out a sentiment on cardstock from a “word” document. (The font I used was Helvetica 19pt.) Prep your card bases with the “On the Road” die cut and thread the ribbon through the holes.

WITH ALL THAT SUMMER READING HOW ABOUT A BOOK MARK?

IMG_9526

The sweet “Frozen Treats” die cuts can be used for an elegant card or you can have some fun and combine them with the oh so adorable “Birthday Farm Animals“. Color the Frozen Treats to look like a watermelon or rainbow stripes… whatever you decide you will have a good time. Below are some quick tips.

my_collage_by_Fuzel

1. color with markers, apply distress stickles  2. add glossy accents   3. cut a vellum tag and a white tag. color a rainbow onto the tag & stamp sentiment    4. add texture with a rag & colorless blending solution   5.admire the texture   6.color twine in all of the rainbow colors   7. put scrap dots top pop the frozen watermelon treat

YES… YOU CAN MAKE AN ELEGANT CARD WITH ANY OF THESE FROZEN TREATS OR ICE CREAM CONES

IMG_9523

I jumped for joy when I saw the “Frames” a wonderful set of four die cuts that are so versatile. A window card highlights the ice cream. The sentiment was stamped in White Unicorn Ink and Simons own Sea Glass ink with the new “More Sketchy Banners Greetings” that coordinates with  “Sketchy Banners” that you might already have. (love how Simon brings new stamps to work with older goodies)

IMG_9520

To create the backgrounds I used sea glass ink and the new stencil called, “Waves Stencil” a dauber is a good way to control the ink when applying it to stencils.

IMG_9501

A close up of the detail that the distress stickles gives to the felt is something not to miss. Next time I will sew on seed beads instead of glueing them on with glossy accents. The beads were a last minute thing. 🙂

prize-pak-final
