Two whimsical cards

Hello Friends, How are you? Did you happen to notice that all week at the Penny Black blog we are showing cards with Christmas stamps but, using them for a card that’s NOT for Christmas.

Today is my day at the PB blog and I made two cards to share.

I love this “snow globe” called “sending love”. I could use this globe for every season. For months I have had this fish tank idea floating in my head and was so happy to finally put it on paper.

The random stitching was applied to the card base and I colored everything with copic makers. Glossy accents works beautifully on the bubbles and don’t forget to add more white bubble dots. Here is a card by Elizabeth using this same stamp and one by Ashley here.

This next card was inspired by a sunset I saw the other day and made a mental note of the colors. I just had to add this adorable penguin for some whimsy to the card.
Blank Card
The tree and penguin are “Christmas” stamps and again very versatile. Emboss the tree on white paper before you start distressing. For the penguin I used more copic markers and a very fine marker to add the details to the scarf. (it’s in the supply list)

Blank Card

Thank you for stopping I really appreciate it and I’m pretty sure that your holidays are crazy and your time is limited! Have a fantatic weekend! Hugs, Kathy

Awesome cards Kathy. Love the fishy globe. All those lovely white dots appearing again. Your sunset card is stunning and the penguin adds that little bit of whimsy perfectly.

I lived on the tropical islands for 12 straight years. I luuuuv the “under the water”, beach, summer scenes on the cards!I swam with those beautiful fish in the ocean! I luv the way you stiched outside of the globe. I also luv the crab’s legs, hanging out from the globe! I also luv that you didn’t color the whole globe, left the white part on the top. This card really reminds me of my time in the islands 🙂 The 2nd card… i really don’t like Cold Winter, Period, but your coloring on the background of the tree & trees’ combination is almost the same pic. I took, a year ago, on my way home from the New Year’s lunch gathering. It was beautiful! as beautiful as your card!! 🙂
