This way or that ?? With Mimi or without??

Hello Friends 🙂 Anything new since yesterday? I hope only good stuff.
Today is my day on the blog at Penny Black. Did you know that Penny Black gives prizes for comments if you are a club member and don’t forget about the weekly challenges too…. more prize opportunities 🙂

While we are on the topic of “club member” don’t forget that you get first crack at the photos of the newest stamps and special project cards etc.

You most likely know that we are featuring the Mimi stamps on the PB blog so without further a do I present my card to you. I like how it looked before I added Mimi and her pooch as you see below. I can’t wait to ink up the other stamps in this transparent set called “Christmas Express”.  The “Holly Tree” is a cling stamp and you can make a quick Christmas or holiday card with it.

There’s lots of little details in this card. The first thing I did was stamp the tree with black ink on watercolor paper. I colored the holly leaves with Tombo water color markers…so quick and easy. I wanted to make the trunk of the tree taller and thicker and to achieve that I used markers the same markers from Tombow. The snowy hills that are super easy to cut & layer. I think that this glitter is what made these snowy banks super cool as in temperature cool..lol

After “coloring” the leaves and berries I used my paint brush to dab on some green stickles on the leaves. Looks so pretty in person 🙂 Notice the berries?? I applied red stickles on the berries THEN I added a blob of glossy accents on top…. it gave the berries such a nice, round, sparkly and a realistic look.

I distressed the background, stamped the snowflakes with “Crystalline” (I use this set all the time) with white ink and then dotted with a white gel pen. Mimi & her pooch were colored with Copic markers and I used the new Copic paper that really blends the colors faster than regular white paper. If you give it a try I would love to hear what you think. I stamped on her hat with this & added falling snow on top.

It’s always a luxury when I have time to finish off the inside. I love the metallic inks and wanted to give the inside a different look. I stamped this elegant sentiment on vellum and some more of my snowflakes.
I hope your day is a happy one and thank YOU for your visit. Hugs, Kathy
