have you tried a color challenge

Hello Friends, Have you ever tried a color challenge?? What I love about them is you get a jump start on your card. As you might know each month Lily Pad blog hosts a color challenge & today is the beginning of a new challenge.

I hope you will check out the Lily Pad blog to see the different interpretations of the color palette and what you can do with Tiffany Doodles whimsical and beautiful images. I think you will be inspired 🙂

One of the things I like most about using digi prints is that you can print them in any size. The beautiful branch is from Tiffany Doodles, the sentiment is from SRM stickers and the frame I created is from Spellbinders.

I fell in love with a few new products this past weekend. Jennifer told me about some white ink from ColorBox that I used on the background. I had tried so many that I was unhappy with but, finally in love with a new white ink!! LOVE IT!!

I also fell in LOVE with the new Ranger distress inks that you see is the background color and the brown accents on the frame (over kraft paper). Penny Black’s ZEN background is perfect for a subtle look. Add some white dots for fun.

One thing I did different with my SRM sticker was stick it onto some acetate before glueing it down with some Glossy Accents. I wanted to float the sentiment but, I added it last so it didn’t fit..lol. I am not a planner. Loved the look of it on acetate though.

Recently I was really moved by this post from Mo’s Digital Pencil. I think it appropriate because all of the digital artists struggle with people copying and or sharing their images for free or maybe innocently passing an image along?? I know you all are a compassionate bunch & I thought you might like to read Mo’s struggle with this issue and how it can effect the stamping industry.

These pumpkins are from Mo’s Digital Pencil and I have been wanting to make place cards with these for Thanksgiving. I colored them on the airplane and the stewardess asked if I was coloring them for her. I knew she was kidding so I just was so puzzled..didn’t know how to answer.

I still might add a little brown distress ink on the edges and some orange stickels. I love working with independent artist’s digital images from Tiffany Doodles, Mo’s Digital Pencil and A Day for Daisies.

I hope you have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Kathy

Hi Kathy! Love your coloring of the flowers and branch! Always amazes me to look at your work. Read Mo’s letter.. what a strong lady! I feel for her, and it’s so hard to believe so many people do that kind of thing 🙁 On the plus side, I really had never been to her site – saw several images that I HAVE to buy, so thanks for sharing the link! Have a beautiful day 🙂

Love your card Kathy – gorgeous coloring as always. I really like that background, too! Thanks for sharing the link of Mo’s post. I am saddened by people who would think it is okay to share digi images.
    Big hugs to you.

I love that background with the white stamping & the way you have used kraft with white & brown. The flowers & lwaves really pop off the whole design in this. I’m not a planner either so you really encouraged me with the fact that you’re not one.
