Cards that Care is such a great cause

Hello Friends, Thanks for stopping by again and welcome if you are new to my blog & welcome to the blog hop.

I am so glad you are here because Vera & Jennifer have joined together to collect cards for the elderly in nursing homes for the holidays. Vera has done this for many years and it’s called “Cards that Care” and today is a blog hop with lots of prizes.(more on that later)

You should be arriving from  Rachel Isakowicz”s  blog  here. If you need to start at the beginning please go to Vera’s Yate’s blog here or Jennifer McGuire’s blog here.

Now for my card…I had so much fun creating this for the elderly and I know they always love pets. These adorable images are from Penny Black & colored with Copic markers. After stamping a texture on the truck I sprayed a copper mist on top. I LOVE the the soft glimmer sheen this spray adds to the truck. I added lots of Glossy Accents on the front window.

(You will find the supplies at the bottom of this post.)

I love taking an embossing folder after dry embossing my paper swipe it with white ink directly on the paper. Last October I designed two cards for with this same technique so if you would like to see the cards click here.
IMG_4543
You can see the copper up close and its a beautiful shimmer especially on the red marker. See the berries?? I added three coats of Glossy Accents on each one. Let it dry between each application but, I can promise you will love the dimension. Let me know if you have any questions.

Now….let’s talk prizes

These companies generously offered prizes for the hop: Lawn Fawn, Penny Black, Sweet Stamps Shop, Avocado Arts, Hero Arts,  I Love It All  & A SPOT IN THESE AWESOME ONLINE CLASSES HERE.
Winners will be selected randomly from comments left on the participants of the blog hop. The more blogs you leave comments on the better your chances for winning the goodies. A visual list of the goodies go here.
NOW IT’S TIME TO HOP TO Amy Tsuruta’s blog here.

Thanks for your visit & have a great weekend! Hugs, Kathy
P.S. If you haven’t see my blog candy & want to check it out click  here AND if you have time I just posted one of Lily Pad’s new color challenges below.
