Hero Arts Hostesses Blog Hop

IMG_5590
Hello,  friends! Welcome to Hero Arts week long 2012 catalog blog hop with the Hero Hostesses! This is the first renunion that I have ever looked forward to attending and it’s so nice to see all of my friends.Today, you be arriving from the talented & sweet SHARON DUNN’s photostream.
If not, or if you happen to discover any broken links, you can always find the master link list for the hop
HERE. Also, please be sure to report any broken links to Tami by clicking HERE. Thanks!
IMG_5592
If you are new to my blog each of my posts will showcase two cards. One super simple and the other one…..well… more a bit detailed. For both cards I used this “Large Flower Background” and this fun sentiment set all from Hero Arts.
IMG_5598
This simpler card was inspired by this class called “Clean & Simple Card Making” The class has such great ideas and is so incredibly inspiring.  There is still time to register & take advantage of discounts etc.
You can find the flower pot here. I stamped the background on the flower pot and colored it easily because I already had my colors selected from the previous card. The center flower was just cut out from the background after I stamped it once more.

IMG_5593
For the center oval I traced a Spellbinder racetrack oval and cut out the insides of the oval. The Copic colors I used are linked below this post. To get lots of dimension I used Scrap Dots behind the face of the card. If they are sold out it’s worth the wait. Just be sure to wait over night for the Scrap Dots to dry. If you like my coloring you will find some of my tips here and I will be doing more videos.

Thanks so much for joining me today, and thanks to Hero Arts for hosting the best renunion I have been to plus I can attend with my sweats on.

  340. Paula (PEP) says

    January 14, 2012 at 10:13 am

Both of these are very striking indeed but it is the first more complex one that absolutely thrills me. I absolutely love the shading of the flowers & the background. Actually it is the white elements of both cards that makes the colours brighter & the black mounting that really finishes them both. Your rounded corner of the simpler version really accents the flower pot edges & your whitework is beautiful on the stem & leaves.

I love the way you’ve gotten mileage out of the same stamp, especially the great idea of making a flower pot out of it as well as using the single flower. The dots on the leaves are a nice touch as well. Thanks!
