Day 11. Stamping On A Paper Block

Hello All, It’s me again. I hope you are enjoying the daily posts (insert prayer hands). Either way it’s hump day and nothing better than finding time to color.

When I am painting usually I paint the easiest part first hence having two have two birds to paint next. I kept asking myself why did I stamp TWO birds lol. This is the first time I painted each single feather individually even though it’s hard to tell.

The rose is called, “Big and Bold Sympathy and Friendship Rose” from Colorado Craft Company. The birds are from Red Lead Paperworks . The paints are from Lydia’s watercolor splits.

To stamp on a paper block that measures 10 x 14 can be done of you have the memory misty or if you are using a smaller paper block you can use a smaller misty. I have done both. As you can see in the photo the paper pad is hanging off the edge on the right. The stamp is positioned on the left and the misty pad is removed to allow more space for the paper block.

After stamping my images with Gina’s Warm Glow. (Perfect for markers or watercolors)  Using a Gina’s hybrid black mini ink cube I took the corner of the ink pad to carefully add black to the beak, eye and legs.

The birds were masked off with masking paper so I could stamp the rose. I used some used blue painters tape on the birds tales in case the masking paper would lift up when stamping with the rose.

Thanks to some of you for leaving me some love on my blog. Warms my heart! Have a good day and I will see you tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

Thanks for the tips on stamping on a paper blog. Never thought of that.
It must take lots of time to paint those lovely birds, but it’s so worth it, the details are already incredible!!

I love that you are coloring these birds as blue jays! This is coming along beautifully! A brilliant idea to get the background done first.

I can never get the stamps to stamp well on the rough watercolour paper. I guess the no-line kind of colouring wouldn’t require as perfect an image. Thanks for the tip on stamping on the block. I always cut off a piece before to stamp on it in the Platform. ❤️

Thank you so much for the great tips, I never done that because I always was afraid to break the lid, now I know it can.
I love these birds in front of the beautiful rose.
Thank you so much for sharing, stay safe and have a wonderful day.

Forgive my stupidity, but what is a paper block?

Steaming in warm glow, and the black at certain spots? You are genius!

    Hi Kathy!

LOL! I saw a post today that you were nearing the end of your 30 day challenge. I didn’t figure out how to get to day one and look through all of your projects. So, I started on day 29 and am going backwards! Some of my comments are answered in the early post…which I’m seeing AFTER the current post! Some of my comments may make you wonder if I looked at anything! Hey, at least Im committed to seeing them all…even in a backwards order!
