basic grey giveaway – blog hop

Hello and a warm welcome to you. Today is  BasicGrey‘s  Aspen Frost blog hop! I am so happy you are here and promise that you will be inspired with the projects and cards in today’s hop 🙂 To start at the beginning click here…or you may be arriving from Lisa Dickinson blog here.
Aspen Frost
Charming and familiar, wild and sweet, a juxtaposition of Christmas past and present, Aspen Frost by BasicGrey holds all the joy and tradition of a homespun holiday. In neutral birch, iced cranberry, red hot cinnamon, dazzling white, glacier blue and green apple, Aspen Frost is the comfort and blessing of yummy pies, sparkling drinks and a warm flame burning in the hearth.
How’s that for a description….gotta love it and seriously the paper speaks for it’s self. Honestly I haven’t met a BasicGrey 6×6 or 12×12 that I didn’t like. I love this soft and cream loopy flowers on the face of my card…and the on the background ..the snowflake paper is so soft and just so pretty!! Even though this is a holiday paper it can easily be used for any occasion as you can see in my second card.
IMG_8304
The shadow box card was created with Spellbinders “Wonky Rectangles” and the beautiful papers of Aspen Frost. Below the next card  I have a mimi tutorial  Can you see the frost on the ornaments? I used some Rock Candy distress stickles.
Aspen Frost
On the back of the “open Sleigh” paper is this beautiful birch paper and I just wanted to make a simple quick card for any gender. Note the background of the sentiment stickers…it’s called “Oh what fun” and I love it.
IMG_8315
Applying Glossy Accents on the lettering from the sticker pack is fun and looks so cool.
IMG_8296
This paper is called “Tin Solider” and I just had to cut out the ornaments for my shadow box card.  You can see which ones I cut out from the paper by the arrows.
IMG_8297
See how my twine is “standing” out horizontally?? Just coat the twine with some Glossy Accents and it can literally stand up to anything.  Perfect for nice bows or to bend for an ornament hook. I just used my fingers to coat the twine with the G.A. and let it dry.
IMG_8298
When I am creating a frame type card I like to use Scrap Dots instead of any kind of pop dots. It’s so much faster and you dont’ see the white foam… plus you can make it higher than pop dots depending on how much you squeeze out.
