“Create something delightful today”, says Anita Jeram & Giveaway

Hello Friends, How are you? I am hoping you all are well and happy. If you need something to smile about I think the stamps everyone is sharing today will do the trick. Grab a cup of something yummy and buckle up.

Today Colorado Craft Company has an exciting new release!! Anita Jeram, the illustrator of the classic children’s books below curated a beautiful collection of stamps with Colorado Craft Company. HOW exciting!!

Colorado Craft Company is celebrating with a list of 25 designers all creating with the new and oh so adorable stamps. The full list is at the bottom of my post. I am pretty sure each designer will be having a giveaway so lots of opportunities to win! Yes Please!

Let’s start off by honoring Sam McBratney. As you may already know Sam passed away, just two weeks before his and Anita’s sequel launches. Anita said that he had been very sick for a long time and that he will be greatly missed.

Sam & Anita’s publisher sums up what they together have achieved:

I started out by stamping several of the sets and painting the backgrounds with a simple wash.

Better Together, Wishing You Happiness, Birthday Wishing, This is Us Frames and Wall Words are the stamps that I am featuring today.

This adorable set called, “Wishing You Happiness” makes me light up every single time I look at these sweet critters. Wall Words is that green pop of color in the background.

It was tempting to paint some “lipstick” on the dogs lips with the paint brush but, that’s something to consider at the beginning of my coloring not the end.

For a one layer card I love to add twine that I customize with a marker for a little pop. The little bow on the small pups tail was fun.

For my second card I used the stamp set called, “Birthday Wishing“. I just love these sweet little animals.

Both of my cards were watercolored with some left over paint that’s been on my palette for months.

Tracing a circle around a die cut with a pencil was easy and fun to paint. The sentiment was stamped last.

Once my painting was dry I added pencil highlights. In the second photo all I did was add some color in the nooks and crannies, one one side of each image with pencils. The images are all ready taking shape before I add more color to the fur.

This weekend I am hoping to finish up my painting on this sweet stamp “Better Together“.

    I love this book and I’m glad the sequel was finished before Mr. McBratney passed away. His words of loving wisdom as well as Ms. Jeram’s illustrations will be treasured for many years to come. Your illustrations are just as beautiful and I can see them as a framed collection on a nursery wall. Well done, Kathy! I love each of them!

    May I ask something how did you do the shadows on the second card? Did you use the back of the stamp to use as the shadow since it will give you a solid shape?

    Kathy, I always look forward with anticipation to seeing what you’ve created. The book Guess How Much I Love You does embody unconditional love & now that these stamps/dies from 3C’s are being released, these endearing critters can be spread far & wide in different forms. Yay! You made me chuckle when you said you ought to have added lipstick to the larger dog at the beginning of the painting process. That would have been so cute. Your talent knows no bounds.
