Day 16. Tropical Flowers – Honey Bee Stamps

Hello Friends! Welcome to Day 16!! Today I was able to finish up coloring Honey Bee stamps beautiful Paradise Blooms tropical floral stamp set. Yay!

In my post yesterday I talked about painting with the Distress Oxides. Next time I want to try painting with distress inks first and add distress oxides on top.

Today I realized how difficult it is for me to figure out how to finish a card because I’m so used to creating one layer cards.

Painting with the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Re-Inkers was different and I like how the oxides are opaque instead of translucent. The paint sits on top of the paper so you can keep adding a layer without it turning muddy.

The Honey Bee ‘s  “Paradise Blooms” &  matching die cuts … LOVE them. It’s not often I use a die for the background but, this one is so pretty and stands alone.

Before I layered my card it was super fun to make some designs with everything I painted.

This one was fun too. Maybe I will do something like this again for a wall hanging.

See you tomorrow and always a big thank YOU for your visit. Hugs, Kathy

Wow, the colors you have used for the Paradise Bloom flowers are so beautiful. You have amazing talents. I have not tried using the distress oxides to paint as you have done, just for stamping. I will have to try this method. Thanks for the inspiration.

LOVED your coloured pieces, ADORE your card!
… it can be so hard assembling elements, sometimes I take photos of them in different positions so I can remember what goes where 🙂

I absolutely love it! The colors are so vibrant. I have the same background die and love what you did to step it up. For someone who only does “1 layer” cards this one is amazing. I love the texture of the die coupled with your focal tropical sand the vellum. Wow!
