Twelve Designers of Christmas Celebration with Honey Bee

Hello Friends! How are you? I am popping in today to celebrate Honey Bee’s annual Twelve Designers of Christmas Celebration at the Honey Bee Stamps blog! I am thrilled to be participating and today is Day 12. Check out their previous days for loads of inspiration.

My goal today was to create 8 quick and adorable tags without to much fuss and in a timely fashion!

Simple is difficult for me and I am proud that I was able to stick to creating something simple with these darling “Snow Buddies“. I wasn’t going for green snow people but, sometimes things don’t always go perfectly but, I made them work. My paper was hot press and I don’t like anything about it. Cold press yes please!

During the holidays I don’t like spending money on packaging and I do my best to cut down on boxes and such. My gift bags were from Anthropologie when I purchased some ornaments for gifts I asked for some small gift bags. The “ribbon” I used is raffia because it’s not plastic ribbon. I am trying to be more mindful of other ways to reduce the plastic in our lives. 30 years ago my gifts were wrapped so exquisitely but, I have let all that go.

Honey Bee’s “Snow Buddies” just make me smile. This year the boys and girls will be wearing matching p.j. bottoms on Christmas morning and now I have a fun way to make this gift more fun & festive with my tag!

I  had some of this tape for the glitter strip at the bottom of my tag. This tape is the most amazing. It was really easy to lift off the backing plus it’s nice and thick and soooo easy to handle. LOVE!!!  For the snow balls I used a dollop of Gina K. Designs glue and poured on the glitter. The best part is I had a great time making these. It is possible to whip up some gift tags in the midst of everything else I am proof of that.

I hope you all are doing good. Sharing  photos soon of my trip to the  MFT boutique. Thanks for your visit. Hugs, Kathy

Gorgeous Kathy–love the cute snowman tags and red bags are great! Many years ago I made fabric bags, from Christmas fabric, with ribbons sewn at the top to close the bags. Those bags are reused every year, we have them in tiny to huge sizes–gifts (and other fun “decoy”) are added to the bag, usually with the true “gift” at the bottom of the bag, requiring the receiver to dig out all the other “stuff” in the bag.

They’re adorable Kathy! And I love your packaging!
The last 3 years I use Kraft wrapping paper, no scotch tape in order to reduce the use of plastic. I use twine instead of ribbons. I love the simplicity and the recycling factor.

Snow cute, love that you’ve managed to stick to a simple yet stunning look. Will look fantastic under a tree, great job x
Also extremely pleased to see another crafter doing her bit for the environment. As you know there is still far far to much excessive packaging out there, more so plastic. I’m so glad to hear that it’s not just me that’s reducing the usage of it, even though like you I used to love having my given gifts all wrapped up beautifully in excess paper & bows. Merry Christmas to you & family x
