DAY 12. Bird with pencils & markers

Hello Friends, I hope your week is off to a good start. Super quick post today. Below is the before.

This is a great stamp set from Avery Elle that is sold out. Ugh sorry. It’s called Hummingbird and it was fun to color. First I always color with markers then … comes the pencils. Tomorrow I will finish these flowers.

I filmed the pencil accents and the video went sideways on me lol. Area to note is the eye area … how I drew a circle around the eyeball to accent it.

Excited to finish this up. Have a great day and see you tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

P.S.  There are 3 ways to share what you are coloring. If you want to join a community of coloring enthusiasts I recommend Instagram or FaceBook . Be sure to tag me and use the hashtag #thedailymarker30day. Kids & young adults use #thedailymarker30daykids.

Your coloring is always so amazing! I’ve tried adding colored pencil to my marker coloring, but it doesn’t seem to work for me–probably user error and the fact that I don’t have the best colored pencils.

    November 12, 2019 at 11:14 am

Oh yessss! The circle around the eye really makes such a lovely difference. I love how my Polychromos work over Copics. Even with sharp pencils, the white spaces bothered me. None of that with marker underneath as you taught us.

  26. Mischelle says

    November 12, 2019 at 11:24 am

I like before and afters. I just wish the photos were next to each other. I might be the only one with this problem, I have to scroll up and down, just to see the difference. I see the 1st one is lovely, but, wow the second. I just can’t place what is different due to the scrolling back and forth. As I said to me, they both look great! Thanks for the inspiration, I keep on coloring!

    Dear Kathy
Your coloring on the flowers, the pot and the bird are super duper awesome.
I am so blessed to join your 30 Day Coloring Challenge as i get achance to learn from a genius like you and practice it too. I sucked at coloring earlier but after watching videos i just started to improve a wee bit and the coloring Challenge is an icing on the cake for me.
Thank you for taking time off your busy schedule to organise this awesome challenge and teach a person like me to color for free. You cannot even imagine how much i value this opportunity. Thanks a ton for the tips you share and taking my fears of coloring away slowly but steadily.
I have become a wee bit more organised as i want to color something daily. I have taken my coloring mediums stamps etc and kept them on a tray so that i can stamp the images and keep them safely for me to grab and color when i have time. Bless you and your family with good health and happiness always with lots of and gratitude
