Let’s Catch Up

Hello Friends! How are you? Did you have a good weekend? Nice Thanksgiving? Still recovering or recovering from Black Friday or Cyber Monday? All those sales sure can cause me some stress!

I decided to post a days at a time to save you all a few emails … I figured your inbox was flooded with sales. Do you want to catch up on what I have been coloring?

Finding time to color has been challenging. Now I understand the value of pre-stamping images and I might prep ahead if possible for the next 30 day coloring challenge.

Purple Onion Designs has some awesome stamps to build a scene with and the critters are soooo fun, sweet and adorable. Tomorrow I hopefully will finish this. Right now they are having a sale 25% off!! woo hoo!

For Day 25. I was so relieved to have a new pack of coloring cards from Simon Says Stamp. Such a life saver and I tell you every single coloring card in the pack is just as special as the next one.

Simon Says Stamp has been having some great sales and if you aren’t signed up for their newsletter you might want to so you don’t miss special sales. Click here for a sign link if interested.

This particular pack of coloring cards is all snowmen … such fun. Simon has every subject matter that you can imagine. Check out some of them here.

When I travel I always pack some of the coloring cards and a few Tombow markers.

For Day 24. and Day 23. I inked up these beautiful flowers from pretty Pink Posh called, “Anemones“. For Day 23. Coloring he background was all that I was able to manage. I used some blending solution with a rag to add texture to the background. The following day I was able to finish the coloring on the flowers. I am curious what you think of the green flowers? (I was going for a different look).

This photo is blurry but, I am sharing it anyway in case you want to check out the marker colors.

Thank you all sharing what you are coloring I can’t express how much I enjoy seeing your art.

Have a great week and see you tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

P.S.  There are 3 ways to share what you are coloring. If you want to join a community of coloring enthusiasts I recommend  FaceBook or Instagram. Be sure to tag me and use the hashtag #thedailymarker30day. Kids & young adults use #thedailymarker30daykids.

Day 23 & 24, gorgeous flower stamp set and the colours you have used are great Kathy. The background texture is awesome as always. I have tried your tecnique with the rag when I used Distress Ink and that also works great, of course you have to use water instead of blending solution and play with the amound of damp on your rag.
Day 25, the colouring cards by Suzy are so great, everythime I see them I think that is must be so handy to have them in your stack so you always can grab it to colour.
And that brings me by Day 26/27 where you coloured this awesome barn (?) or is it a log cabin and so curious what you are going to make with this.
I think pre-stamped images are great if you know where you are going to use it for. I for instance, make my cards special for the person, for example when a friend is having a birthday and she loves roses or she asks something special for her birthday then I try to connect the card to it. Then it becomes more difficult to stamp your images in advance unless you have someone in mind for the card.
Thank you so much for this great update, I am also following you on Instagram but herer is always nicer, don’t know why. Hope to see more soon.

Thank you so much, Henriette! I always look forward to your feedback. It means so much to me that you take the time to respond fully. I like the pre stamped images for cards because once made, I can usually decide exactly who I want to save the card for…or keep in a stash that eventually find the person I want it to go to, even if it is a year (or more) later. It takes the pressure off that needing the perfect card for that special someone. “See” you back here soon 🙂

BRRRR!!!! So, I’m TRYING to stay warm! When you hit a certain age, you’re ALWAYS cold! LOL HOPE you’re staying warm too! 😉

Hi Kathy! I have a question regarding the Suzys printables. Are they good for Copic coloring? Thank you in advance for your reply.

      November 29, 2018 at 4:58 pm

Hi Cheryl! Yes, the Suzy’s printables are good with Copics, but I recommend you put some paper behind it while you are coloring…see if this technique works well for you too.

The green flowers are amazing! Love how you coloured the barn too. And those colouring cards are such a fun idea. I also really like your idea of pre-stamping some images

You are so sweet, Gab! I am happy you like my green flowers. Pre-stamped images can be very helpful so that I don’t have to agonize over what image to choose next…just grab one from the pre-stamped pile 🙂

The Inbox has indeed been flooded with sales (of course I took advantage of a few), so your post full of coloring was welcome today! Once again, you make it hard to pick a fave, but the colors in that snowman scene really jumped out at me.
I don’t always make it, but I love to color each and every day, even if it is only for a few minutes. I do keep plastic boxes full of pre-stamped images ready at all times whether it’s for home, travel, craft events, whatever.

      November 29, 2018 at 5:02 pm

You are very kind; I am glad you liked my color choices for the snowman scene. I am thrilled that you try to color everyday AND that you have plenty of pre stamped images to choose from your boxes. Brilliant 🙂

Olga, you are the best! Thank you so much for your kind words. Funny that you mentioned Black Friday; I just heard from my friend who is originally from England tell me that Black Friday is popular now in the UK. So funny to me 🙂

These are great Kathy. I always enjoy seeing what you are working on (even if I am catching up on past emails…lol) I am sure they are finished by now. ..
I love Suzy’s pre stamped card and always have a bag packed for traveling, it’s also helpful for the color challenge.
Thanks for sharing the marker colours you used on the flowers, so pretty.

    Dear Kathy:

I wasn’t able to participate this time (doing Nanowrimo) but I do like to. Do you know when you will next be doing teh Coloring Challenge, so I can schedule it?

I am not sure yet; it is a lot of work for me even though I love it! Kristen, I hope you will just check back for an announcement in 2019 for the next one and I hope to see you participate if you can 🙂

I love how the barn door looks like a barn door. Not that a barn door would look like a chicken or a swimming pool but it looks like real wood which makes it look like a barn door. Love it!
I have actually seen some green flowers besides yours & I had never seen any real green ones before. They are amaryllis so there are real green flowers. I like yours too. I like how you did your shading on the flowers.
I love your snowman card & I love the colors! Snowman are so fun to do, aren’t they? I hope to post more soon!
