giveaway – simon says feb card kit

Hello Friends, It’s my FAVORITE time of the month again…because it’s
time to GIVEAWAY SIMON SAYS STAMP FEBRUARY CARD KIT! All you need to do is leave a comment and I will select a random winner on FEB. 10th.
Like each card kit this one contains lots of delightful goodies to use in your projects. I love the shabby chic look to this kit with the soft romantic colors. The stamp set is so special…just wait you will love it!
I couldn’t stop at one card so I made three….actually I made SIX but, in my next post I’ll share the other three and I can’t wait.
For today’s cards I wove the papers, stamped and or die cut from the woven paper. I have a tutorial for you too. For the card above…. the hearts were die cut from the woven paper with Simon’s exclusive called “Large Hearts Set”. You may recognize the “Small Folded Banner” that I have been using a lot…yes it’s that wonderful 🙂
I stamped the dresses from the stamp set called “I Like Your Style” from the card kit. You can purchase it separately.
Under this heart I used the Apothecary dies to off set my heart. The wood scattered altered hearts were colored with a white gel pen.
I cut my paper strips from this 6×6 paper called “Glitz, Hello Friend”. I ran the “chisel” end of the marker alongside the edges of the paper. It doesn’t take long and worth the effort so that your paper weaving stands out.
I like to use a piercing mat because it’s easy to see the lines…easy on the eyes. If you look closely you will notice two strips of this on the top and side. This made the weaving easy and held everything in place.
Attach your first strip onto the “Score tape”. Start alternating your paper strips … weaving… alternating between every other paper strip.
You might find it faster if you weave at the bottom then slide the paper to the top so it’s snug up against the last paper you just placed.
Upon completion flip your woven paper over and tape the back to hold everything together.
Save your bottle caps like I did here. My stickles are in the cap so i could easily paint the “Rock Candy” on with a brush. Rinse your brush immediately! I must mention the brushes… LOVE them and have had them for years…so reasonable too!
After lunch my woven paper was dry and was left with a beautiful shimmer sheen. I die cut the hearts for my cards in different shapes and sizes. That’s why I love these hearts. The left over bits were spared by stamping the dresses on woven scraps.
Just trying to capture the glittery goodness but, nice and subtle!
I traced the die cut heart and cut it out from some contrasting paper to heave a small boarder. This way it was slightly larger than the heart that was die cut .
I curled the edge of the paper in the corner.
Love how these dresses were designed and I can’t wait to color them !
The doily was backed with the pink paper and cut out.  Love the dimension of the banners.
In my next three cards (coming soon) I will share more rolled sentiments. Such fun! Thank you for your visit and have a great weekend. Hugs, Kathy
P.S. The winners were announced in my last post 🙂
