Day 17. Using A Holiday Stamp for Everyday

Hello hello it’s me again!! Full disclosure … I colored this when I was away & decided to save this if I didn’t have time to color. The daily trips to the hospital and now the rehab place have cut into my creative time so I was happy to have these sweet birds.

It’s always rewarding to alter a stamp for an everyday use. The sweet bird on the left is making a “snow bird” instead of a snow angel. So fun! I decide to have him stand for an excitable lil birdie.

This little cutie was from this stamp set and super easy to turn the hat into a regular knitted type of hat. After coloring my first layer on the bird I used some ink blending solution with a rag. (My favorite technique)

I want to add a huge red heart in the background if I get a chance!

Using the super fine tip marker I added some details on the wings, eyelashes and fuzz on the hat.

Thanks again for your prayers, thoughts and good wishes for David. You all are the best. Many hugs, Kathy

Good Day Kathy, I have to say you are blessed to be close enough to spend time with family. Not so lucky here but my darling hubby makes up for it. Love the birds, they are so darn cute. I have to admit I am missing the video’s, but do understand. God Bless you and your family during this time.

The little birds hat also reminds me of a night hat from the old days. Looks like he’s ready for bed.

Adorable! And sitting in a hospital means less supplies, but having a few stamped out images to play with is do-able. (sometimes) Don’t stress too much about us readers. We love you and understand. Life happened to me last week, and now it’s happening again this week. I have always thought of myself as a survivor–not in the sense of fighting back–but in the sense of grass laying down until the wind stops, then popping back up. Hope the image helps!

Those birds are just to dang cute! I love how you changed one of them to make a bird for all seasons. I wonder if I can do that with some of my stamps? I’ll have to see what stamps I have that I could do this with. Obviously, I couldn’t do it with a Santa stamp but I see how you could do it with the bird. I was thinking of a fall stamp I have that I could make the leaves green instead of multi colored like in fall and then do her clothes in other colors. Talk about getting more then one use out of a stamp! I love this idea! Now when it comes time to do this, you have to make sure you remind me to do this, okay?
I’m so glad things are getting better for you and your family. You are all still in my prayers and will always be.

Thank you so much, Gail. Your homework is to pull out some themed stamps and see how you can repurpose them to other events/holidays! I bet you have multiple! Have fun getting creative and stamping and coloring!

It’s good to look now and then on a different angel to your stamps. Using them for other purposes then the where original made for. Thanks for this reminder of a great idea.
    I love the little birds!
