Altenew Markers Release Blog Hop, Video & Giveaway

*If you are looking for my Power Poppy Inspire Me Monday Click here. thanks!

Heeellllloooooo Friends!!! How are you today? I am super excited to be apart of the Altenew Blog Hop today especially since it’s about the NEW MARKERS!! YESSSS PLEASE! To start at the beginning of the hop go to the Altenew Card Blog here.

Right now you might be asking if I like the markers?  Pinky swear I really really do love them. There is a nice brush tip and a nib. Initially I thought they nib would be good for coloring books & that was about it (I am a brush tip girl lol) BUT, I discovered coloring my card that having a nib can be a great thing. I love using lines as accents and that nib is perfect for that! Bring on the nibs ha ha!

My video is a little longer than usual but, I think you will love seeing another technique for copic blending solution besides my rag.

Love this stamp set called, “Sketchy Floral” so much and here is another video using the same stamp set.

Before I sat down to make my card I decided that a color key would be useful and fun. I do like making color keys to hang on my bulletin board as a colorful artful piece.

In the video I show you how I made my color key… so fun! The Altenew “Building Blocks” stamp set has so many possibilities. I really wanted to make a shaker card with it but, I ran out of time.

The color chart was useful for picking my colors for my card & I love the vibrant colors. Spraying some copic blending solution on my backgrounds turned them into a velvety texture look.  (do not try this unless you see the video please)

Coloring twine to match my card is quick, easy and adds dimension. I stamp this nice & heavy weight vellum with the sentiment, heat set it & wrap it around my card panel. Attaching the vellum with tape on the back works like a charm.

There are 12 markers in each set and I love the color combos. Several of you asked me on The Coloring Challenge Road Trip if the markers coordinate with the Altenew Inks. YES! Check out the set of all 36 markers here.  Set B here and Set C here.

I found these  Color Swatches from Altenew and you can see how Altenew coordinates their inks with the markers. Yes please!

PRIZES!!! WOW WOW!!! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to SIX lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and Altenew Scrapbook Blog by Monday, November 27th for a chance to win. Six winners will be announced on the Altenew Card Blog and Altenew Scrapbook Blog on Wednesday, Nov.29th.

MY GIVEAWAY! I have a  $30 gift certificate to randomly draw from my blog comments. (thank you Altenew) . My winner will be announced on my blog on November 28th. Good luck!

By far you remain my absolute favourite in copic coloring! I have yet to see you do anything basic and I just love that, and love learning such cool ways to create with them like the spraying of copic solution to make that great texture! I havent yet sprung for the Altenew markers but after seeing them in use I sure would like to add them to my stash. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts on these markers and showing how great they are!

You know how in the Wayne and Garth movie they bow and say “We’re not worthy?” That’s how I feel when I see your coloring. 2 people who are artists, one who does portraits of people in colored pencil and chalk and another who hand marbles paper say that my coloring is so spot on and really good that they consider me an artist and I still don’t think I’m as good as you are. This card looks amazing! I am loving all the things in this set and I thank you for showing us what you did. I also thank you for giving us the chance to win something. I hope I win!
