Day 22. Winners & Distress Watercoloring

Hello Friends, How is your day going? T.G.I.F. to you! If you are a hurricane victim you are not forgotten. Lots of good things in the works with SSS and OCC to raise funds soon! My heart goes out to you and giving you a big squeeze.

I was running short on time cause I’m off to Canada for my road trip but, I had to take a deep breath, sit down and paint a little while the laundry was going.

STAMPtember is a month full of beautiful collaborations at Simon Says Stamp. This particular one is with Studio Katia and it’s so beautiful…. it’s called, “Blooming Trio“. I wanted to give my distress ink some loving so out they came.

I masked off the flowers easily with a post it note and inked them up with festive berries.

You might ask … what about the nooks and crannies? I am itching to add a little color to them or do a little more watercoloring on this? I do love working with the mini distress inks and water. (supply list at the bottom)  Let’s move on to winners!

This is gorgeous! Is it picked raspberry and ripe persimmon with the festive berries? It looks like peacock feathers but I just can’t tell what the yellow/green/olive color is. You stamped it with festive berries then watercolored? The stamp turns the edges a slight brown which is very realistic looking – love it.

I used crushed olive and lucky clover for the greens. For the flowers I stamped with festive berries and used picked raspberries, candied apple and ripe persimmon!

Beautiful coloring Kathy–love to water color with distress and the little ink pads make it so easy! I have this “thing” for abandoned coral–absolutely love that color! Congrats to all the winners. Have a safe trip, I was in the Banff area a few weeks ago and am leaving for a road trip to the Midwest, to see our daughter and son-in-law is the highlight!

I love to color this way. Loose and easy. Can you keep adding? Always! Do you need to? Not necessarily! Sometimes, it’s best to let the stamped image take center stage by allowing the coloring to remain simple. This is one of those stamps. Just my humble ‘what the heck do I know?’ opinion.

Hi Kathy! Thank you for giving me such a great start to my day!! I am so so so so lucky to be one of your winners (I am over the moon enchanted with the yeti stamp!!), and on top of that your big heart is still with everyone in the hurricane affected areas. Your card today is so lovely! I can totally relate to your comment about coloring while getting the laundry done. I bet a lot of us color when we can…those odd minutes add up! Have a great time in Canada!

Thanks, Kathy! I want to add an extra huge thank you for not only remembering us here in Florida, but also all those in Texas and now Puerto Rico who are suffering because of the hurricanes. My family is fine but my Mom’s house is a disaster so we are dealing with that. Some of my neighbors who have family in Puerto Rico have no idea where they are or how they fared suring the hurricane there. Also, huge thanks to you for reminding us that Danielle’s father still needs help on the go fund me page for his treatment. With so much going on I am grateful you brought that to my attention!

Your card is so pretty! Love that watercolor look so much! What a lovely stamp set. It is always such a joy to see a post from you in my inbox!
