Day 2. Blog Hop – Giveaways

Hello friends! Welcome to Day 2 and “The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge” Blog Hop. Excited! Giddy! Inspired …that’s what I am feeling and I am so happy that you all are here today! My favorite stamp companies & my favorite Online Class “OnLine Card Classes” (also known as OCC) partners are joining us for the hop too. Mixing stamp companies on a card is one of my most favorite things to do … that was the inspiration behind the hop and all these beautiful company’s hopping together brings me so much joy.

The premise of “The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge” is to color something everyday even if it’s for five minutes. (However feel free to  jump in or out as time permits). Any coloring medium is welcomed. Click here for DAY 1. TO UPLOAD YOUR COLORING on my blog or here on Instagram or here on Facebook (it’s a closed group). When you get to the Simon Says Stamp blog you will find photos of my card but, I wanted to share the video here. Mixing different brands brings me so much joy and  for this project I used Simon Says Stamps “Cups & Succulents” and Stamping Bella’s “Thinking of You” . The scale is of these two stamp sets are perfect together and I love them both so much. I had so much fun making this card and adding lots of patterns and detail. The background stamp is awesome and I can’t wait to give it center stage. It’s aptly named “Topography” from Neat & Tangled.

My second video … was created for  The Stamping Bella blog  (one of my regular features there) and you will find the photos to this watercolored card but, again …. I wanted to share the video here for you. Concord & 9th spectacular butterflies had the perfect symmetry for Stamping Bella’s  “AlmostElla” Danielle Donaldson collection. The bold colors from Tombow’s watercolor markers are easy to use and vibrant.

    THANK YOU for doing this challenge!!! I look forward to this every time you host it, and I really needed it this month. I’m having to adjust my creative time a bit due to health and have been a little discouraged that I can’t get as much done or done as quickly as I used to. The last two days, I colored an image and it turned out so well I wanted to cry. It took me probably 20 times longer to finish than it would have even 2 months ago, but that was ok. I could color bits at a time and just enjoy it. So thank you from the bottom of my heart!

    I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and inspiration! I’m so glad to have found this challenge and to be able to “meet” so many talented and kind people. Last November was a rough month for me and my family, but the coloring challenge really, really helped me to keep going. Now unfortunately, the past two weeks haven’t been going too well again, and I’m just so glad that there’s another coloring challenge <3 I might not be able to share a photo every single day, but I'll definitely try to do some coloring every day, because it really helps me calm down and relax.

    I’ve been waiting for you to start this up again! I love watching you color. It relaxes even me! And it makes me giggle when I see you spending time shading and working and reworking areas – even when you know it is going to be covered up by another image. It’s hard to stop sometimes & I feel better knowing I’m not the only one with these issues. I’ve been watching you & your white gel pen for quite a while & finally got the courage to do some white dotting myself. It’s so hard to start, since I sometimes spend so much time coloring a panel that I’m afraid I’ll ruin it. Once I’ve started, now I can’t stop! There are white dots and dashes and swirls everywhere!     I love how you add pencil to your markers. I’m wondering which colors of Prismacolor pencils you used to define the skin tones on the card you did with the woman and the succulents? Thanks very much!

      Honestly Susie, I don’t remember. You can use a variety of warm, flesh tones and they should work. Use what you have!!! Sorry, hope this was helpful! 🙂 Happy you’re here and playing along!

I really like that many of the stops along the hop mixed in products from different companies – just like you did! This is so refreshing to me and just made me happy! I do this myself – I love to mix and match from a variety of companies! I really enjoyed both of your videos! It’s such a joy to watch you colour and create – and the result is always fabulous!
