Day 29. Ohhh flowers & giveaway

challenge_graphic-nov16_16x24

Hellllooooo friends, How are you today? OMG tomorrow is day 30 and I am feeling a little sick about that. I hope I have time to make something special for you but, it’s a crazy day …. eek!!

img_2258

Today I reached for my Daniel Smith watercolors again. I am determined.

Today’s beautiful flower stamps are from Kennedy Grace Creations & they have lots of other beautiful stamps. In my opinion you can never have enough flower stamps. Check out their store here & their blog here.

During my watercoloring tonight I was baking a 2 layer cake from scratch….

img_2254

Getting the background down first is critical I think.

img_2255

While the cake was in the over I painted the flowers. Love the size and shape of these flowers. Soo lovely and how about that sentiment.

img_2257

While the cake was cooling I stuck these flowers in the oven to dry my paper hahah. The oven at this point was just warm and it worked like a charm. My paper was dry so I took a sharpie and outlined everything and drew a thick boarder around the flowers so they would stand out more…. plus it’s relaxing 🙂

img_2259

Using a white gel pen really makes the colors pop. You know how much I love adding white dots. That’s if for today. Time for the ….

GIVEAWAY!! TWO $15.00 gift cards to the Kennedy Grace Creations store. Thank You Kennedy Grace 🙂

To qualify to win just say “flowerpower” in the comment area. I will announce a random winner soon at the end of the challenge.

Have a great day and see you tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

FLOWER POWER!!! Flowers to the people, too! ; )

Kathy this is delightful! I am curious, did you emboss the image before you painted it? I am curious how you see where to draw the black lines when you use such deep colors as in that deep purple for example. Can you still see the lines if they are not embossed? And, do you ever emboss–even with lighter colors, and can you emboss and then use your black pen and go over the powder, or does it ruin the pen?

I can not believe tomorrow is the last day of your absolutely amazing and beautifully managed 30 Day Coloring Challenge! I am saddened that it’s ending, but know December will keep me more than busy! I wonder if we will still have access to the FB page with everyone’s art on display. I know i didn’t have a chance to see all of it.

Kathy, thank you for all of the beauty you have shared with us. And, even more for all you have taught me. I will be following you after this challenge and continue to cheer you on as I try so many new techniques! God bless you and yours, Kathy!

    He IS Able!

I have been a flower power person since the 60s when I wanted to be a hippie. I’m glad I wasn’t one. However, I am a flower lover. I wish there was a way to stamp flowers and put them in your yard, like on wood or something. Those mutant ninja squirrels that are ruining our yard and flowers and garden couldn’t do that to my flowers. They wouldn’t have to be watered and they wouldn’t die and I could say that I created them. I wish I could make my garden a reality. I would put your beautiful card out front and center. I love how you colored that flower. Everything is so colorful but where’s the yellow? There’s no yellow! I need my daily dose of yellow! LOL I love how you used the oven to dry the paper but I wonder if you could have used you’re embossing gun? I’d worry about the paper catching fire. You really know how to color flowers! Flower Power forever!
