Day 13. Caring Hearts Blog Hop

Hello friends. Welcome to Day 13 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Did you know that today is World Kindness Day!? What better way to celebrate than with a Blog Hop supporting the Caring Hearts Card Drive…

caring-hearts

In case you’re unfamiliar with the Caring Hearts Card Drive, here is some information:
The purpose of this card drive is to collect handmade holiday cards for the elderly that live in nursing homes around the world. Since 2010 we have been bringing joy to many nursing homes throughout the US, Canada and Australia. And this year, we are branching out to the UK! What better way to share our love of card making than to bring joy to others, right? We hope you’ll join us in supporting the card drive. Details for the card drive can be found at: Vera Yates Blog & Jennifer McGuire’s Blog

What a beautiful and admirable thing for Vera and Jennifer to do. Changing lives one card at a time is a great example to our children and they inspire me to be better person.

Creating this card was fun and a bit of a journey. Loosely painted watercolor stripes were the primary focus of my card paired with this absolutely gorgeous sentiment.  The embossing powder  is so sparkly with so many facets…. Love that it’s so festive.

dsc_0042

Lucy’s Little Things sequins were mixed with Pretty Pink Posh’s mini stars.

These stamps were the perfect way to add embossed stripes to my watercolored ones. A die cut frame,  some blue foam, acetate and I was ready to roll with my shaker card.

dsc_0048

For my second card I painted the background in the video and decided to die cut a frame to highlight my little scene created with these Mama Elephant stamps.

I stamped the sentiment on some vellum and placed it over my snow bank. A few more details about this scene in this post and a giveaway.

Keep Hopping…

Next stop on the Blog Hop is the oh so talented, Amy Lee. You can start at the beginning of the hop HERE.

I love the “sun burst flashes” that showed in the video as you were applying it. Of course, shaker cards are always winners. Even with what you considered mistakes (thanks for leaving them in, BTW) and I considered non-mistakes, your recoveries are always magnificent. You continue to amaze and delight me.

I really love the highlight on the super bold greeting with the plaid in the shaker box.

Those bunnies are so loveable, too! Have you ever illustrated a book? I was thinking a children’s book would be a great match for you to do!
