Mock Shaker Cards for Stamptember

lawnfawn2016stamptember

Hellllooo Friends, I am super excited and grateful to be sharing an awesome exclusive stamp and die set from The Lawn Fawn & Simon Says for Stamptember. Woo Hoo! It’s such a super fun set as all Lawn Fawn is …. I created three cards and another one for tomorrow.

Lets jump right in with my mock shaker cards. What do you do when you run out of acetate for your shaker cards? You make a mock shaker card. I can always add acetate later and turn this into a shaker if I want. Most likely I will when Lucy’s shaker mixes arrive.

Jumping around today just cause lol. Another mock shaker card. These dies from Lawn Fawn really frame your cards beautifully and they make it super easy to make a shaker card. This one is the thick stitched frame … so it’s easy to die cut foam and glue together. This one is the back part of the frame and I use it for the back of the card. It can also be used as a card base too. I have them in rectangle, square and circles. Once I figured these out and how easy it is to make shaker cards I was sold and that’s why you are seeing more on my blog. (tomorrow!)

Sometimes you just want a simple non holiday specific card. I inked up the background with distress ink and a dot stencil. After coloring the pooch I used a tiny dab of blending solution with a rag.

For this simple card I distress the circle frame and the background.

A little various ink on the pooch again. I stamped only three of the flakes with white ink and used a gel pen to dot the centers.  A few eyelashes and I was finished.

When I colored this little guy I mixed grays and beiges … then a little blending solution.

Two coats of glossy on the holiday lights. The “present” becomes the holder for holiday ornaments. So fun creating little scenes.

Oh what a great idea Kathy! These would be adorable as shaker/gift tags! I love the one where you turned the present into a decorations box! The glossy accents really looks perfect on the lights! I received the goodie bag of stamps I won during the Challenge and it was full of goodies! Plus a sweet skunk card I had watched you colour here. I was so excited to receive something I saw you make! Thank you so much for your continued kindness, encouragement and generosity. My daily visit to your blog is a bright part of my day!

I love all the cards you made even if they aren’t shaker cards. You do such nice work on your cards and that’s what people want, cards that look nice. I like this stamp set and I’ve seen it on 2 other blogs including the Lawn Fawn and Simon Says blogs. I wish I could afford to buy all the stamps that I love but not working very much (substitute teaching) and being a caregiver to my parents doesn’t give me a lot of money. I will just have to ooh and aah and maybe Santa will get me something for Christmas.

You totally rock! If my brain doesn’t fail me, I will be trying the snowflake trick. I am already trying out ideas for Christmas cards and having fun. I hate to admit it, but I am actually using my new iPhone to take photo’s of my projects. It’s especially helpful to remember where to glue things down!!! I only need to make about 30 cards, but I will probably end up with more. Plus—I have a stack of leftovers from last year!!! I need to find a place to sell or donate!
