Day 10. Holiday Decor

Hello Friends! Happy Friday! Today is Day 10. of The Daily Marker Coloring Challenge. Sorry I missed posting here yesterday the day got away from me. If you want to see what I colored for Day 9. click here.

Just a reminder that this challenge will be only 11 days instead of 30 .If you have questions about The Coloring Challenge you can refer to this blog post.

Today I have another digi to share with you thanks to Jane’s Doodles . Jane illustrated my all time favorite Santa years ago. Scrolling  through Jane’s Instagram I spotted this combining several of Jane’s stamp sets. I loved it so much Jane created today’s digital stamp!

If you want this digital stamp and you don’t see it in Jane’s store you can contact Jane here.

Last year I discovered this tip and it was a game changer for me. I always wanted to paint some digital stamps but, on 110lb paper. It’s pretty much impossible to print on such think paper.

Print the digital on regular paper that goes in your printer. Tape or hold the image up to the window (or use a light box) Place the watercolor paper on top and hold carefully or tape it. Use a pencil and trace the image. Don’t worry if your lines are wobbly that can be fixed when doing your coloring or  consider it character.

This is how my print looks after transferring it. Usually I leave the lines because erasing can damage the paper if you aren’t careful plus I the character thing lol.

Instead of making a card with the digital stamp I thought it would be fun to make something larger for some Christmas decor. It would be lovely on a mantel with some trees, Christmas balls and lights.

The new Tim Holtz color is gorgeous and the perfect green. Rustic Wilderness yes please! Simon Says Stamp has all of the goodies in stock. I used the Distress Oxide and the Distress Ink to watercolor the truck.

I wanted to let you know that I haven’t forgotten that I promised giveaways here on my blog. As soon as I get some time to organized them I will let you know. Thanks for always giving me grace. See you tomorrow!  Hugs, Kathy

Good golly you sure now how to help in a desperate time, how do you know about things going on in my house ? I had been asked to do a birthday but the only close image I can get is a digi print. My printer ink isn’t comparable with marker, paint or distress inks so I thought I was stuck. Then today up pop.you with this top tip !!!
Santa & his truck is very cute & modern compared to his sleigh but Santa himself is uber cuddly. Wonder for this year if Jane can do him in a full covid kit so he can visit every home as usual. My neighbours daughter (5years) is worried as in the UK we are not allowed in each other’s houses currently due to pandemic & she was worried this means Santa will have to take a break between each house, bless xxx

Santa is magic so COVID can’t stop him!

Dear Kathy… I am always amazed at how you always take time to respond to EVERY comment, but todays reply really warmed my heart. To Ms. Andrea and her worried little neighbors sweet one….yuppers Santa IS magic and you have to know it’s TRUE cuz Ms. Kathy says so!!! And Kathy, who shares such incredible talent and beauty, would never ever say anything untrue. Merry Christmas.

very cute Santa in the truck, thanks for the tip of transferring the image, my printer doesn’t accept any kind of thick paper, I will give that a try!

Awesome Kathy, I love it that you want to use this for your Christmas decor. The Santa is so stunning.
Question: Do you draw the black outline when you finished colouring or before colouring and what marker do you use?
Thank you so much for sharing, stay safe and have a wonderful day.
