Altenew February 2020 Stamp/Die/Stencil/Watercolors Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello Friends! How are you doing? I am popping in today to share two cards that I created for the Altenew February 2020 release of  Stamps-Dies-Stencils & Watercolors Release Blog Hop + Giveaway YES PLEASE!

To start at the beginning of the hop go to  Altenew Card Blog . If you are coming from Norine Borys blog you are in the right place. The full blog hop list will be at the very bottom of my post.

If you want to check out the new product links click HERE to see the links of the new products.

I HAVE A VIDEO FOR YOU CLICK HERE TO WATCH IT.

Altenew has done it again and it’s always an honor to work with their new products and the NEW artist grade watercolor pan palette. Swoon!

The palette is so beautiful and I love the luscious violet color with the pink flowers on the lid of the palette. I like to lift the watercolors out of the tin to work with them occasionally. The watercolors are so creamy and beautiful. You can use them straight out of the palette or create a wash like I did on the background.

You can mix on the lid if you want like I did for the leaves. I mixed the blue and green to create my own deep rich green. The Watercolor Roses were inked up with  “Cherry Blossom“.  The pink ink subtly shows thought the watercolor and I like how it accents  the watercoloring.

This is a big card measuring a mere 5.5 x 7.5. To finish off my card I folded vellum around the sides of the card and taped the vellum on the back of the front panel. Such a simple way to add vellum without a mess or any unsightly glue residue.

The “Wonderland” stamp set is so fun to color with any medium and I loved using the new pan set to get creative with this floral. The “Dotted Diamonds” background is brand new and it’s perfect and FUN to watercolor it or to use it simply and just ink it up.

The Dotted Diamond background was stamped two times to extend the size. Some masking paper was used on the blooms but, I didn’t worry about covering the stem because I knew the paint would  hide the ink on the stem.

So many beautiful watercolor colors in the pan set and I enjoyed using the colors straight out of the pan. I didn’t over think my color choices and just went for it. So relaxing!

This is the paper of choice for my cards today.

The way I laid out the flowers I knew the center would be void of color and I figured sentiment banners would work perfectly. It didn’t take long to add wash of the colors on some scrap watercolor paper to create banners for the center of my card. Once they were dry I stamped with and cut them.

The banners were popped up with foam tape. The middle banner I used two layers of tape for more dimension.

Prizes: To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by 2/18/2020 for a chance to win.

First, thanks for the video — I always enjoy them so much and I know they’re not the easiest to make. LOVE your use of the watercolors. And Wonderland IS the best stamp set to color/paint, etc.

Absolutely beautiful, Kathy! I love that you adapted the size of your card to suit your image instead of the other way around. The richness in these colours is just gorgeous. Love both cards!!

Kathy, these are lovely! Altenew wisely chose you to design samples as they will surely draw in many new crafters as I have been. Thank you for sharing your talents and convincing me I NEED more than my well loved 36 pan set of watercolors.
