Day 11. Quick Tip on Hair! Quick 1 Minute Video

Hello Friends, How was your weekend? Were you able to get some good coloring time in? Did you see the post yesterday announcing all 15 winners? Please check it out if you missed it and if you are a winner add your shipping address to that email. Thank YOU! If you didn’t win I still have 45 giveaways plus more coming. It’s how I show my appreciation for you all that follow me.

So I have been wanting to color one of these beautiful stamps from Sandy Boone who owns Three Room Studio. I have been a fan since she started the coloring challenges in the beginning. Her coloring is an inspiration to me and off the charts.!!!!

It’s pretty  exciting when your friend is picked up by Simon Says Stamp because her designs are that awesome! This “Welcome Little One” Stamp set is perfect way to welcome a new baby. I honestly love it so much!

Coloring this beauty was the best way to pass the time on the airplane. I finished it up today.

I pre-stamped two of my favorites. This second one is called “Mermaid at Heart” and it’s a love too. The sentiment … “friends are like seashells collected & treasured” yes please!

The first layer of color was with marker and then I added pencil accents with a VERY  SHARP PENCIL. Coloring the mermaid tail was easy and fun using some dots with the markers. I kept the dots especially the darker dots concentrated  in one area then added pencil accents.

Thank you all for playing along I am having such a great time seeing what you are entering.

See you tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

    November 11, 2019 at 6:36 pm

Thanks for sharing the tip on using color pencils over colored image. Since I’ve plugged in my pencil sharpener I’m real close to start using this technique. Lol keep the pencils sharp. I practice at my cursive writing as much as I can every day & find that a wooden pencil is better for this practice because mechanical pencils always have a sharp point but not the same as a wood pencils sharp point. The lead is softer and needs sharpened often.

    Dear Kathy
I dont know simply how to thank you. I am learning such a lot and already my fiends are saying that i am improving. Isnt it awesome. Thanks a million, ton, a bunch my dear friend for organising this challenge.
You are a genius and i simply love your coloring. Thanks for all the tips you share. You and your family are in my daily prayers.
Though I take time to color daily writing the post and uploading might take awhile as i am on a crazy schedule with my job as a freelance writer but i always tell my friends what an awesome world of people i have found with crafting.
I hv three markers which i bought with a gift card i won. Other than that i hv watercoler pencils. color pencils and crayons and some stamps. As you said i am looking at my stamps differently and today i am trying to color a girl as i want to try your tip on coloring hair. My life has become so beautiful after learning to color as i knew that i sucked at coloring earlier. To be a genius like you it will take years of practice but I have taken the first step towards it. I am so humbly greatful to you my dear talented friend. May God bless you and your family with good health and happiness always. with lots of love and gratitude

I love the way you did her hair! I like those colors because, of course, there is yellow in there! This is a very cute stamp & I love mermaids. I have a mermaid stamp & I am going to try some of your coloring tips on her. Today my mom went to therapy for her bone on bone in her knees. She was there for almost an hour. I had stamped the front of 4 greeting cards & managed to color 2 & a half of them. The rest I did tonight. Now I have to get some embellishments & card stock & put them together & I will have 4 more Christmas cards done. Go me! LOL
You did a really beautiful card here & you should be so proud of yourself. Now I am going to post some more for the challenge here & on Facebook.
