Altenew + The Daily Marker Color Therapy Blog Hop & Giveaway

Hello Friends, How are you today? If you are here for The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge it’s DAY 18. I am super exited that Altenew and I are collaborating to spread the joy of coloring through The 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Thank YOU sweet May for making this happen! Reduce the stress of life & color just for the fun and relaxation of coloring. My motto is to find just 10 minutes of “you” time each day and watch the stress melt away!

*Thank YOU to all of the talented designers for taking time from their schedules to color for today’s hop. I feel so blessed. Thanks and prepare to be inspired by these ladies! Grateful for you  all!

If you are coming from the Altenew Card Blog you are in the right place. If you want to start at the beginning go to the Altenew Card Blog.

I was so excited about the hop I created a video for you today rather than one of my 60 second videos.  You can watch my video here in HD.

If you are wondering more about The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge is or if you have questions you can refer to this post.  This is the middle of  The 30 Day Coloring Challenge  and it’s a great time to jump in and get your feet wet. Any medium is welcome & any skill level.

To create my project today I used one of my favorite stamps from Altenew called, “Happy Pomegranates” and this stamp makes me want to color! Love it so much!

My goal was to create a beautiful pattern by stamping the pomegranates multiple times on 140 lb. paper. I used the Memory Misti with Warm Glow ink to create this large piece that measures 8.5 x 11.

I mixed and used a combination of Altenew watercolor brush markers with the Altenew watercolor pan set. Love the bright and vibrant colors of the brush markers and they mix  beautifully with the brush markers!

GIVEAWAYS! Yes please! I have a giveaway & so does Altenew below.

After viewing this video, I think the thing that is wrong with my watercoloring is that I am too timid! I get it to a certain point and think it’s ok and if I took it a step further as you do and acted fearlessly, it would be much better. Thank you! The pomegranates are gorgeous in this because you created depth and weren’t afraid to do so!

I’ve always been slightly afraid of those pomegranates, but your colorwork is stunning! Thank you for the reminder to find just 10 minutes to color. As a middle school teacher, I have a coloring station set up in my classroom for students to use during study hall. I have crayons, colored pencils, and various kinds of markers, plus positive quotes and many other fun pictures available for them to color. It is always nice to see my students making use of these supplies! I know how good it is for them to create!

Wow. That’s amazing. Only started watercolouring about 2 months ago and I still have lots to learn. So from watching this I can see that it helps to let it dry and come back to it later on with a darker colour. I try to add the dark colour right after the light one and I think that could be why my projects don’t look as dramatic as yours. It was such a joy to watch your video. You can see the shapes due to the shading, unlike mine where everything looks flat but I know in time I’ll get good like you. Thanks again for taking the time to do this challenge and collaboration with Altenew Ms. Racoosin.

Just beautiful and I always learn something watching you! Thank you for sharing! I know this had to be a time consuming project, and then to edit the video and blog it doubled your time (if not even more), so I wanted you to know it was appreciated! I know sometimes I can whip up a card, and spend more time getting it out on the internet than it took to make! I’m not sure that non-bloggers realize the time involved, so thanks again!

SO BEAUTIFUL and REAL with the SHINE and SHADOWING!
I’m trying to leave more “white” space and not shying away from black and darker colours, a long way to go but feeling that I’m getting more realistic shading 🙂
