Altenew Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hellloooo Friends! How are you today? I always worry about these fires and pray that none of you or your families are in harm’s way. A wonderful distraction is crafting and painting and I am super excited to finally share some awesome new paints from Altenew to add to their family of watercolor paints. Meet the Metallic Watercolor Pan Set.

Today is a blog hop to celebrate these beautiful paints … the new Metallic Watercolor Pan Set and I think you will love them as much as I do. To start at the beginning of the hop go to the Altenew card blog here. If you are coming from the oh sooo amazing Erum Tasneem blog you are in the right place. I am so excited to see how everyone used the paints in the hop … prepare to be inspired!  Each and every person is so talented and I am thrilled to be asking to join in today’s hop. *See more on the giveaway at the end of my post*

Lately I have been into creating art that can be framed and gifted. One of my all time favorite things to do is create a floral bouquet from stamped flowers. A little masking & cutting no problem. You have something entirely unique and interesting PLUS fun to paint!

My painting was completed over the course of a few days and most of it was painted at night in low light. I wanted to share how I used the Metallic Watercolors as an accent to enhance my water coloring. I started out using the Altenew Watercolor 36 Pan set and to complete my painting I added the metallic water color pan set as an accent to my painting.

I inked up this gorgeous “Wallpaper Art” stamp set with some of this ink. My paper of choice is 140 lbs. & holds up well with lots of water. I also love the texture.

In this photo my painting is completed after using the watercolor 36 pan set. I always paint a first layer of color that I call a wash of color . Once the wash of color is dry I add more color to define the petals and filling in those nooks and crannies that I love to paint.

To get this variation of purples I used the lid to mix a little blue and pink to my purple from the palette to get three unique colors. In my video I show you how I build my bouquet plus show you the next step.

Sorry  for the poor light here …. this was taken one night after I finished the flowers centers. Usually I opt for a darker brown center but, enjoying the softness of the golden brown.

ALSO THIS IS THE BEFORE I ADD THE METALLIC PAINT.

And THIS IS THE AFTER I ADDED THE METALLIC PAINT. It’s much easier to see the glorious glittery shimmer on the petals and leaves in the video.

Prizes : To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by 10/15/2019 for a chance to win.

Altenew will also draw a winner to receive a $15 gift certificate from the comments left on each designer’s blog on the blog hop list below. That’s 25 chances to win! Woo Hoo!! All winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 10/18/2019.

NEXT ON THE HOP is Nathalie DeSousa beautiful blog. Thank you so much for your visit today and your visit is ALWAYS appreciated. See you in a few days for the NEXT 30 Day Coloring Challenge! Have a great week! Hugs, Kathy

I can’t wait to see how long it’ll take during the challenge because it’s to be a framed outdoor scene. I haven’t watercolored yet only did watercolor swatches which was a great idea.
