Day 3. Mission Accomplished

Hello Friends! How was your weekend? Busy? Crazy or relaxing? Maybe all of the above?

I finished that stamp that screamed HAPPY to me … it’s from Waffle Flower called, “Plant Kindness“. Sooo fun to COLOR!

Yesterday I mentioned that my goal was to play and color the cactus with some fun colors. I used  Tombow markers on the bear. If you are curious this was the paper I used this ink.

Once the bear was dry I added colored pencils accents to the bear and the plants. Adding black and dark color to some of the plants make them pop. Let me remind you not to pay attention “to the shadows” just darken an area … any area.

This is what I finished yesterday.

I love how you’ve coloured this image. I started out watercolouring my images then found copics and loved how quick they were compared to having to wait for waterolours to dry. I recently purchased some Zig clean colour and hope to get time to play with them over this 30 day challenge.

Awesome bear, how cute is his cheeky face bless him. My challenge might have hit a hiccup slightly, I’m out of hospital recovering from an operation & things aren’t going to plan with recovery, try explaining to Dr why you don’t want to return to hospital as it will ruin your 30 day plan. Lol think they might admit me to a padded cell next x

      June 20, 2019 at 6:35 am

He is a super adorable image, isn’t he Andrea? Im so sorry to hear that your recovery is not going smoothly. I sincerely hope your doctors can figure out something to get your healing moving in the right direction 🙂

Adorable Kathy, I love the bear peeking above the plants and that sentiment is so true.
When I add coloured pencils over my watercolouring, the pencil colour is more shiny than the watercolour. Is that also with you when you uses coloured pencil on top or is it because I use Polychromos, they are oil based?

I have started a bouquet of flowers and have done two days of colouring and it isn’t finished yet. The two days where just a half hour, long enough for me and my wrists, they are slightly inflamed, so I have to be careful with colouring. Short times, long breaks.

I see you tomorrow, happy colouring.

    • Kathy Racoosin says

      June 20, 2019 at 6:39 am

That means a lot to me, Henriette. I am always happy that you like my work.
Perhaps you are pressing too hard? It has taken me a long time to use a very light touch and adding very little color to the paper, but the layering builds color. It takes a long time, but the harder pressure causes “waxing off” and the shine will appear. It also saves my wrists, but breaks are important…just like when I leave comments; gotta save my wrists and take long breaks from the repetitive motion of typing.

We didn’t have a busy weekend but it rained a lot on Sun. We went to the movies on Sat. to see The Secret Life of Pets 2. Heads up. The first one was so much funnier! This was funny but not as funny as the first. They showed the first one on Disney Channel this weekend & even though I’ve already seen it, I taped it. You can never laugh too much & I love to laugh.
I love how you finished your picture. It’s cool!

      June 20, 2019 at 6:45 am

Movies are so much fun! I am glad you had some movie time, but sad that you didn’t enjoy it as much as the original. Glad you like my finished picture 🙂
