Felt Cards with Neat & Tangled Die Cuts

Hello Friends, How are you? I am super excited to share my felt cards today. The minute I saw these die cuts I was smitten and the day finally came where I was able to cut some felt and sew … sew … sew.

The Llama and the Cactus stitching dies are to “die” for so it’s pretty dang quick to whip these up. Now the background on this card is a different story tho more on that in two seconds.

This card  was soo fun and quick and the felted background makes me warm and cosy even though it’s finally spring!

Here’s a photo of the dies and supplies. The Gina K. Designs glue works great on felt and ya all know I love using that twine.

The Wonky Chevron background die cut I love and I went pretty bold with my color choices!

I decided to add a strip of vellum so the colors of the cactus would stand out more. Adding foam tape to the back of the cactus really makes them pop off the card.

When I travel I often pack a few papers to sew using the Paper Smooches die cut with precut holes. The background on this card was previously finished and just waiting for something special.

When sewing I plan the areas where I am going to add my stuffing so those last few stitches will be easy. I sew three quarters of the leg … add the stuffing and more on to the next leg and repeat.

I have batting (quilting stuffing) somewhere but, I was in a rush and opted for tissues. I cut them in strips and that made stuffing the llama easy. I stuffed the tissues in with a toothpick.

Coloring some twine to match my project is always that little extra touch for me.

These cards would be fun to sew with some card stock instead of felt. I love sewing on both.

Wishing you a great weekend! Thanks for your visit as always and always so appreciated! Hugs, Kathy

These are so darling Kathy. I love the stitching and and how the felt gives it a softness that you couldn’t get otherwise.
