Quick Update & Wedding

Hello Friends, Before I begin …  to those of you in the hurricane’s way please know that my thoughts are with you and I pray that there isn’t any damage or loss. We were just in Charleston this weekend for the wedding and when we left on Sunday the coming storm didn’t seem to alarm anyone that we encountered at that point. My nephew will be leaving his mini moon early from SC but, they are blessed that this was after the wedding.

With that said I have been working on the winners for The 30 Day Coloring Contest and I am meeting with some friends tomorrow & they will narrow down my pics to choose the winners so I will announce the next few days.

Thank you all for being so gracious and patient. Last Tuesday I delivered lunch to the bride and groom to be and ended up helping them pack their clothes, pack the car and pretty much throw them out of the house (they were like running late by 6 hours lol). It’s so important to me to be able to make time to do these things & they were so grateful I showed up not realizing that they really did need help.

My twin sis (the mother of the bride) … we left on Wednesday to prepare for the “Welcome Party” . Instead of a rehearsal dinner the couple opted for a welcome party to welcome everyone with light appetizers and a few drinks since everyone was from out of town. I printed and cut, mounted on craft and cut again these photos of the couple. 200 cuts!

My mom and I found love quotes and I did the rest. All of these went on the tables at the welcome party around hurricanes and candles to make it a bit more personal.

My amazing nephew and his beautiful bride taken at the church.

This is what I call the money shot lol. Stunning right! Taken at Magnolia Plantation in SC.

This is my twin sis with her son.

Tonight I had some time to color it’s been a good week and I needed it so badly. OMG isn’t this the cutest? I love all of the collaborations that Simon Says Stamp has through the month of STAMPtember. This lil monster is the colab with Concord & 9th and Simon Says Stamp called, “Monster Hugs“. Oh the possibilities!

I wanted to color her with a little dirt and some dust coming off of her with blue dirt. I colored her with markers and pencils.

Thank you again for your patience and kindness and see you soon. Many blessings, Kathy

Hi Kathy, thanks for asking. Just a heads up: I will be sharing a video of something like this for Scrapbook & Cards Today…a class they will be announcing soon. I started with a light Copic marker E50 and then added microscopic circles with a very very sharp colored pencil. I continue to sharpen my pencil often or else the look is entirely different. If you hold your hand high on the pencil you get lighter strokes that are very soft looking and you can build up color. I find that it allows the texture of the paper comes through. For the grass I used two Copic markers and colored pencils on top. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching 🙂
