Altenew Celebrating Parents Card Drive Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello Friends, T.G.I.F. ! Are you as happy as I am that it’s Friday … it was one of those long weeks.

Altenew is celebrating parents with a blog hop and I am thrilled to take part in this hop. To start at the beginning of the blog hop go to the Altenew Blog.  (you can find the full list is at the bottom of my post.)

I love that Altenew ‘s goal is to send cards for the elderly that lives in nursing homes or shelters to let them know they’re not forgotten. I hope you will check out the Celebrating Parents Card Drive and join this great cause by sending in cards if you have a little spare time or a spare card.

I inked up this Best Dad stamp set with some distress ink and set out to do some more watercoloring.

These images are so fun. If I had more time I would have made anther card using the tools and color them with flowers and pinks for a girlfriend who is a tool.

Lots of green & blue distress inks were used & mixed on my acrylic palette.

When the images were dry I added details with a 0.03 super fine tip marker. Later I decided to put some coffee & cream in the mug to ground the mug on my card.

For the background I used two of  Altenew’s inks randomly stamping the sentiments in the stamp set on some neenah.

Special Offer: Save 35% Off on the Best Dad Stamp & Die Bundle from 4/20/2018 until 4/23/2018 at 11:59 pm EDT. No coupon code needed to enjoy this deal.

Prizes: Altenew is giving away $50 gift certificates to THREE lucky winners. Be sure to leave comments by May 6th at 11:59 PM EDT for a chance to win! Winners will be chosen at random from the comments left on any of the blogs listed below and will be announced on the Altenew blog on Mother’s Day, May 13th, 2018.

20% of the profits earned from the following sets (Best Dad, Painted Rose, Penned Rose, Extra Special, and Best Mom) by 6/17/2017 will be donated to Food Bank of Central New York to support seniors in need.

NEXT on the hop is the talented Kristina Pokazanieva . Thank you very much for your visit today it’s always appreciated. Hugs, Kathy

Yes, I am glad it’s Fri. We had some cold weather this week so I am glad it’s warming up this weekend. I’m also glad tomorrow is my birthday but I’m not glad to be “64” like the Beatle song.
Your card was so totally my dad except for the dumbbell. When he was alive last year in 2017, my dad had a work shop in our basement. He couldn’t use it for the last 3 or 4 years of his life, but he had a tool box, the tools, and almost all the stuff in your card. I love the way your card is colored. I miss my dad so much seeing your card that I have tears in my eyes. He loved to make things and fix things around the house and he was good at it. I’m almost glad I don’t have this stamp set because it would make me cry seeing i I have one stamp that I used for my dad one Father’s Day that makes me sad to look at. It’s not an Altenew stamp but it’s a dad and his child, even though it’s a male child, going fishing, which I did with my dad only once. I won’t go into what happened because then this will be a really long post but my dad never took me again. He did take my nephew a lot though when my nephew was younger (he’s 19 now) because my sister was divorced and her ex lived across the country. I have to make some cards for the Celebrating Parents Card Drive.
Thank you for showing us your card and for giving us the chance to win something. Tomorrow on my birthday I will make some cards for this drive.

My husband was very handy with tools.
If I wanted something built (from a special
sized stitching frame to a cabinet) – he
could always produce whatever I asked for
and it was perfect. He would have loved
getting cards using this stamp set.
He’s been gone 14 years and I’m so
sorry he didn’t get to see all of the cards
    I’ve made since that time.
thanks for the trip down nostalgia

The Altenew stamps are awesome… I only wish their customer service was better – I placed an order back in February and am still waiting for the replacement items (stamps and a dry ink) that were never shipped to me. I have even received another of my orders in the meantime. 🙁

You did a great job on this card! And how sweet is the idea behind this blog hop?!? Father’s Day cards are my kryptonite. I struggle with them so much because there are no stamp sets that have images or sentiments that fit my quirky dad or hubby. I usually end up making them from scratch with digital images or my own sketches, or just going with a geometric background and a computer generated sentiment. I wish there were more Father’s Day stamp sets!

What a blessing this card drive will be to all the seniors fortunate to receive a card. I belong to a Facebook group named Random Acts of Cardness and I’m blessed to be able to provide a smile to someone with my cards. Thanks for the opportunity to win a prize and thanks to you for participating in the hop.

I love the thoughtfulness of this hop. I like the color palette you chose for this card. I don’t often go to orange as one of my main colors, but you really made it work (this is my not-shocked face, in case you were wondering). Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!

I lost my father a few years ago and felt the loss of my superhero. My husband is my daughters ‘ superhero and they love this set. We can’t wait to make some cards for him.
