Day 17. Giveaway More No Line Coloring

Hello Friends, How are you? Thank goodness its FriYAY!! I am so happy you are here today 🙂
Yesterday I had a long appointment so I packed up some markers one stamped image and was able to color up some of this beautiful flower from Studio Katia. (I have to work a day ahead and sometimes I don’t even have the chance to do that). I finished this literally 30 minutes ago when the email hits your in box.
I remembered to take a photo in the middle of my coloring. When I arrived home … later I added some colored accents to my copic coloring with some pencils. This is the ink I used.
Any chance you were aware that Simon Says Stamp is having a 25% off copic sale until March 30th. USE THE CODE MARKERSALE.  I love a good sale and if you haven’t taken the plunge to buy the blending solution I use all the time … why not try when it’s on sale.
To create my background I used these elongated dotted hexagons with some distress ink. I glued the dies down and trimmed my card panel.
GIVEAWAY!! Win a goodie bag containing a Studio Katia stamp. Winner will be announced at the end of the challenge. Just leave me a  hello in the comment area.
See you tomorrow for a video and more coloring and thanks to Studio Katia for the giveway. Thanks for popping in! Hugs, Kathy
P.S. Click here for DAY 1. TO UPLOAD YOUR COLORING on my blog or here on Instagram or here on Facebook (it’s a closed group). Please remember to use the hashtag #thedailymarker30day and for kids & young adults #thedailymarker30daykids

P.S.S. If you have any questions about the coloring challenge you can refer to this post and see my  video here. The premise of “The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge” is to color something everyday even if it’s for five minutes. (However feel free to  jump in or out as time permits). Gorgeous flower, Kathy. Also love how your die cut hexagons add texture and interest without distracting from the main image. I have managed to do quite a bit of colouring last week and even turned the coloured into cards. Woot!

BEAUTIFUL card, love it. Great idea to make your appt. time go by faster. I love that flower. I was trying to figure out how you got the “dots” on the flower, it looks like you might of splattered it on somehow, however you did it ,it makes it “pop”.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Happy coloring everyone.

    • Kathy Racoosin says

      March 18, 2017 at 10:41 pm

I used the brush tip of my copic marker using a light hand and touch. Copic dots are great for texture. The fine lines were done with colored pencils over copics. Keep finding time for you. 🙂

Hi Kathy! Another beautiful coloring job–beautiful card. I’m doing pretty good with coloring at least something every day, some of the detailed coloring book pages take longer, but are certainly fun to do. I just need to turn some of them into cards. Happy St. Paddy’s day to you!

One stamp? Now that is some good quality control. When I have Long appointments I always bring stuff to color or scribble on and always have way too much stuff tagging along.
That’s just the way my mind thinks though. I’m always thinking what if I get tired of coloring this one, I’ll always have another on stand by.
I love orange flowers. In your last post I mentioned tiger lilies. That’s about the color they are. Gorgeous coloring from you as usual.

By the way, I sent you a pm the other day asking about the stamp set you made up for November 2015 hero arts my hero club, did you find it?
I know it’s been a while but I’m hoping to find someone who might have that stamp set they don’t want anymore.

Anyway great day of color again.

Beautiful. I love the background dies. Great look and interest. I have tried to color in my family room in front of my tv. but the light is just not right. I guess I am so use to my craft room lighting that anywhere else just doesn’t work. That is awesome that you can color anywhere. I have been using pencils more and being softer with them and building colors. I like the effect. Thanks for sharing your awesome creations and teaching me what to do to hopefully make my work better.

Oh my gosh, do you know what I thought of when I saw that big flower? A pin! I think I’ve seen a pin that looks like that. It would also make a great hair bow too! See you can do so much with stamps besides make cards.
Hello to you, Kathy! Today I got to color. My 93 year old dad is in the hospital again. He is so thoughtful of us that the day he went in he told my mom “I hate to bother you but I think you’d better call an ambulance because I think I’m having a heart attack.” He said he felt bad off and on all day but he didn’t want to worry or bother us. He had a mild heart attack and they are putting him on blood thinners to shrink the clot. We had to wait in the family waiting room because when they put an IV in him they nicked him and it was bleeding. I brought my coloring book and boy was I glad I did. I got to finish this amazingly huge, detailed picture and showed my dad. He was almost crying when he said it was beautiful. He asked me how long it took to do it and I said a long time. Had I been able to color everyday it wouldn’t have taken as long as it did. I’m sure the scan of it won’t do it justice. I got this Mod Podge stuff that will let me put it on a tee which is what I want to do. I wish my sister would take a picture of it and put it on a purse for me but for some reason she says because it’s on paper she can’t. If you can take a photo of a flower or light house, why can’t you take a photo of my coloring? I don’t get it.
I love, love, love your flower card and the background. Great use of color.
Did I tell you I’m getting a die cutter? Someone on-line that I e-mail every so often who makes tags for e-mail’s and loves to make cards has one that is a hand crank and she can’t use it anymore because she has arthritis. She asked if I had one and when I said no because I couldn’t afford to get one, she offered to give me her’s. When her husband gets paid again she is going to mail it to me and it won’t cost me a thing! God is so good to me and my family! I can’t wait to get it and have fun with it.
I checked out the site you mentioned and I liked somethings on there. I would love to win something from them and thanks for giving us the chance to win something.
Oh yeah, if anyone would like to offer up prayers for my dad, I wouldn’t say no! LOL They would be greatly appreciated.

    • Kathy Racoosin says

      March 18, 2017 at 11:11 pm

I send you many prayers for your Dad. I hope he is on the mend. Keep coloring to amaze your Dad. How special he admires your talent.:)

      • Gail Plaskiewicz says

        March 18, 2017 at 11:24 pm

I wish he was on the mend but he’s not doing so good. I trust in God though and I know he will do whatever he has to do for my dad. I’ve been praying and crying and I was even coloring today as what else is there to do but sit on a hard chair and watch TV? I want to make him a card with a heart with a band-aid on it. My dad had a major heart attack they said. He’s on lots of meds and today he had a fever which they are bringing down.
Thank you so much for the prayers. They are much appreciated. I want to continue on with the coloring challenge and I hope that I can. Thank you for all that you do for us.

Hello, Kathy & helper friends. Such perfect timing for this. I was sitting in a meeting today, wishing I were coloring instead, and came up with the idea to color some of my black & white large design papers I’ve hoarded WITH WARM, NEUTRAL COLORS and see how they’d look as a card inset in a sliced front card. I may even use some inks to swirl on ala distress inks. You convinced me to get on it. Thanks.

The flower is beautiful and I’m sure it took you some time to color… but I gotta tell you I love the background even more! It makes such an impact behind that beautiful focal point and its something we all can do regardless of our coloring prowess 😉 I think that kind of background would make even our less than spectacular colored images shine. And it would be great to layer other die cuts on, like flowers, leaves/vines, trees, or anything really except other geometric shapes. I have to remember to play around with this when I have time to play! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
