Altenew Alcohol Markers Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello Friends, Happy NEW YEAR!! I hope your new year is off to a good start & wishing you all the best in 2017. Today I want to welcome you to the Altenew Alcohol Markers Release Blog Hop + Giveaway. Woo Hoo!I am so excited to be here today and it’s an honor to give these new markers a try. Let’s cut to the chase .. YES! yes! I love them!!  Today is the release of the Artist Marker Set and they are alcohol based markers with 12 colors in the set & each marker has a brush tip & fine tip.  To start at the beginning of the hop go to the Altenew blog here.

img_2889

In my video I explain what I love about the markers and share more about my card. It felt so good to color again and the combination of the new markers and this beautiful stamp set I was in heaven.

img_2890

After coloring the “Bamboo Flowers” I cut a strip of vellum and stamped the sentiment with a vellum friendly black ink. After scoring the vellum with a teflon bone folder (no more shiny line)… I taped the vellum to the back of my card so it’s super clean with no markings from any kind of glue. Details were added with a fine tip sharpie marker and a white gel pen. My card panel and the small flower (on the vellum) was popped up with some foam tape for extra dimension.

Using the brush tip is like coloring with butter and the fine tip made it super easy to add dots for accents on the flowers or it’s great for those detailed coloring book pages.

For my second card … I was going for a more watercolor look with the light colors in the artist marker set.

Unfortunately the sentiments in the stamp set are needed but, they say just the right things.

Adding some of eyelash lines to the leaves and flowers with a super fine tip marker adds that little extra with these light colors.

Altenew Artist Markers are alcohol-based, allowing you to beautifully blend colors to any stamped images. You can also easily pair them with the Altenew Crisp Dye Inks to take your coloring to the next level! The colors in this set are designed to be as close as possible to their existing ink colors, so you can take the color guessing game out of the way when coloring. If you are wondering the markers are refillable and nibs can be replaced .. YAY! The Artist Marker “Set A” goes live in the Altenew store today!!  The price of Artist Markers Set is only $44.99 for 12 markers.

Included colors: Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Grapevine, Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, Evergreen, Sea Glass, Ocean Waves, Dusk, Dessert Night & Jet Black . Here are some of the matching inks sets that match the markers … pink set, blue set & the green set.

Prizes: To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to THREE lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew blog by Monday, January 16th at 11:59 pm EST for a chance to win. The winners will be announced on the Altenew blog on Wednesday, January 18th.

  20. Marianne says

    January 10, 2017 at 10:11 am

I had already fallen in love with the Altenew inks (finally managed to get hold of the small blue ink cubes and the warm greys, oh my) and I can see how I could easily fall in love with the new markers as well. I’m currently getting acquainted with my first set of Copics and I love how easy it is to blend the colours using the feathering technique, something I have been unable to do using my other, bullet nib markers.
Love how you’ve achieved both a bold look and a soft look on your 2 cards using these new markers. Wishing you health and happiness in 2017!

I’ve always loved the fine bullet tip on my Classic Copics and have missed them on the Ciao and the Sketch. These cards are just beautiful! I love the colors of the new markers (and the price!)….a little unsure about the bullet nib. Great for techniques, like dots, but I’ve read that they’re harder to blend (like the Promarkers have a bullet nib, as opposed to the brush). But for that price, I will give them a shot! You definitely sold them well, Kathy. You are the queen of the details. You take it to the next level. <3

I am really glad about the bullet tips as well. It looks like the brush tip is large enough for those times that you need to lay down a lot of ink, but -like the ladies in your class-I like the option of the smaller tip for tight areas (such as lots of the stamped images I work on!). I also love that they come in colors matched to their inks even tho I don’t have any! I don’t even want to think about how long you worked on both cards–the amount of detail is just amazing. Once again, out of the park, Kathy!!!!

Not to mention a brush tip for calligraphy/script lettering or blending and a fine tip for getting into those hard to reach areas. Happy New Year Kathy! Today is the first day of the new year for me to check out any fun blogs! Yours is the first stop of the year!

Well, no surprise here! You have mastered yet another tool to use to color! These Altenew markers are beautiful! I love the colors of their Inks. Your video was great. We can count on you to show the details of your card, and how you made them. As well as giving honest feedback about the product.

Your cards are both amazing! I like both of them. You really did get a soft, water-colored look on the second card. If you remember me, you know that I am flipping for the bold looking first card! And, I don’t know what the style is called—but I love how the flowers and leaves are just all over the place for most of the card, as opposed to the balanced rows of flowers. Is there a word for this style?

I’m so glad to be back to check your blog regularly again! I hope life is wonderful for you!
