Caring Hearts Blog Hop

caring-heart-special-release-graphic

Hello Friends! Welcome to SugarPea Designs Caring Hearts Special Release Blog Hop. I am so excited to join this special hop in celebration of the upcoming 7th annual Caring Hearts Card Drive & SugarPea’s Caring Heart Release.

You might ask what is Caring Hearts? Vera (the mastermind behind the card drive) and Jennifer McGuire along with their team of volunteers will be collecting handmade holiday cards for the elderly that live in nursing homes & it’s called The Caring Hearts Card Drive. The drive runs from October 1 to November 25.

Vera will have all of the card drive details up on her blog on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016.

If you are coming from the crazy talented & oh so lovely Debby Hughes blog you are in the right place. To start at the beginning of the hop click on Jennifer’s blog here….one of my favorite people.

The “Kindness Matters” sentiment stamp set is chock full of great sentiments so I wanted to used all of them for my shaker card. The “Kindness” die is such a great size and thickness so it’s super easy to glue layers together.

If my shaker card video doesn’t come through for you just click on this link.

I am so addicted to Lucy’s Little Things…her sequin mixes. Today I used this sequin mix.

img_1126

Today was my first time using Mommy Lhey’s inks. Not only did I fall in love with the size, clear lid but, the ink it’s self. I used Coastal Breeze & Cotton Candy for my first card. As I mentioned in my video I used this and this to create my shaker card and some white foam. A brush worked great on the edges of my card base with the pink ink.

img_1133

I used some masking paper to mask off the envelopes from the “Caring Hearts” stamp set. Enamel Accents brought his lil eyes to life. Have you seen these tiny action wobblers? If I had them I would have used one behind the monkey. (the monkey is from the “Caring Critters“)

SugarPea Designs will be donating 20% of all proceeds from the sale of Caring Hearts stamp sets & dies to the Alzheimer Association. (Such a great cause thank you SugarPea)

These are the stamp and die sets I used today. The “Kindness” die, “Caring Critters” and the Caring Critters die cuts.  “Kindness Matters” sentiments and “Caring Hearts”

GIVEAWAY: SugarPea Designs is giving away the entire Caring Hearts release (3 stamp sets & 3 SugarCuts dies) to one lucky commenter. YAY!

PLUS Vera will give away a $25 GC to the SugarPea Designs Store. (Winner will be randomly select from comments left on hop)

Now it’s time to hop to another crazy talent and oh so lovely …the Laura Basen’s blog. Nothing like being sandwiched in-between some of the most talented friends that I adore.

Thank you for your visit today and a special thanks to Vera, Jennifer and SugarPea Designs for letting me share this great release for a wonderful cause. Have a happy weekend. Hugs, Kathy

I am planning to do that with a Lawn Fawn set of get-well stamps…rather than taking the time to arrange all the cards on my Misti. I haven’t tried it yet, so I don’t know how this idea would work.

Okay, I guess I didn’t comment yet. I wasn’t sure. Your shaker cards are the bomb! I have to see how you do them so I can make one. I’ve never made one before and if they are as easy to make as you make them seem, I am going to be making a ton of them! I can’t wait to watch the video. I’ve been helping my sister at the Eastern States Exposition in MA. She has a booth there and it’s the 5th largest fair in the country. I went on the weekends and had a ball. I’m just getting to this blog hop tonight. I love everything I am seeing, especially yours. Can;t wait to see how you did it.
