Day 18. Video – Giveaway

IMG_0795

Hello Friends, It’s day 18 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I have a big surprise today ….  Scrapbook & Cards Today is showcasing some cards on their blog featuring a few of YOU. Woo hoo!

IMG_1337

For my coloring today I have a little card and a quick video for you using some Zig Clean Brush Markers and some sweet stamps from Clearly Besotted. I combined “Woodland Kisses” & “You Are Wonderful” to create my little scene.

To see the video larger click here.

IMG_1336

I used this to mask off the owls to complete my stamping. The white gel pen highlights made the image come to life. My fav. super fine tip marker helped me add the little texture to the owls.

I thought you might want to see how I built my scene. Thank goodness for masking tape. In case you ask I used Simon Says Stamp black ink.

I did add a pale blue drop shadow around one of my coloring book images and got a “Wow!” from my grand-girl! Today I am using my Supertips markers, picking up the color with a damp brush for the tiny areas. Having fun! Thanks so much.

I love your videos and have discovered I love to color as well. But … collecting all these stamps is very expensive and I can’t afford them and the markers, pencils, etc., so I ha e begun downloading digital stamps. However I am having trouble printing them off for coloring because the ink always seems to run…do you have any suggestions????

    • Kathy Racoosin says

I din’t have any problems with my printer. Sometimes it can be the paper, the printer and drying time. Check out Power Poppy site for their tutorial on printing digis. I hope that will help you. 🙂

I love your cards, Kathy. Don’t know why, but masking just intimidates me and I love to see you do it so it’s not so scary! I think I want to do it backwards! Anyway, I’m lagging behind in the color challenge and I’m not trying to catch up, but I will jump in. I just love it. Matter of fact, I finally got my Raskog cart so I can be organized and ready to color at a moment’s notice (living with four little ones, it’s hard sometimes). Keep coloring!:)

So adorable–goes right along with what I’m working on today–creating “caring” cards in watercolor for Jennifer’s latest card drive. It’s taking me awhile, between work, life and now my son is moving out! Empty nest syndrome, oh no! I need to color more, to keep me calm, but of course have to help him pack and move and give him all the stuff I’ve “saved” for him over the years. So cool that you have so many giveaway, I do need to post some photo,s have been working on the same coloring page for several days, only 5 minutes at a time.

I love watching you color. I don’t do as well with watercolors as my Copics…it’s a control thing especially since I’m not an artist….I like being able to move or remove color to fix mistakes….reds and really dark colors are more challenging, but still easier for me than watercolors.

The images are so cute….love the owls. My best friend told me at Christmas how much she loves owls and since then, I seem to be crossing paths with owls at every turn. I think I love them, too. We have a huge owl living around our house somewhere and we hear his hoots all the time.

Fun video….thanks so much for all the time you devote to your followers. Much appreciated.

Thank you Kathy for having these coloring challenges. I’ve learned a lot during my coloring time and hope to continue learning more about shading and color placement. Thank you also to all the companies who have offered prizes — really nice of you to do that. I’m not here for the prizes, but for the coloring practice, so just had to stop and say that I’m grateful for the needed push to do it. I am going to go look for that post-it masking tape and have enjoyed watching the videos, Kathy. Nice eye candy!

WOW Kathy! This card is stunning! I absolutely LOVE that image, as I am a HUGE owl lover! You watercolored this image so beautifully. I have the zig clean color markers but I have yet to use them with water. I have just blended with them naturally and now that I see how gorgeous they work with water, I am definitely giving it a try! I love your white highlights too by the way, definitely makes that image come to life!
    Hugs,
