Succulent Wreath & Giveaway

IMG_9838

Hello Friends, How are you? I am back today with another wreath card. During the coloring challenge I turned a bottle brush tree into a wreath. I was itching to turn a succulent into a wreath and finally had time to make that happen. The Hero Arts “My Monthly Hero” November kit provided me with the right succulent. The large “Peace” is from Simon Says Stamp.

IMG_9839

Sharing Hero Arts November Kit and everything I have made with that kit to date is important to me. I hope you can see how versatile and fun the stamp set I created is. 🙂

InLinkz.com
Here is the November Kit and there are additional dies for the succulents. You can also purchase the flower soft separately.

Now….. how about some details on the wreath? 🙂

IMG_9827

Combine any two or three distress inks that you have or any ink for that matter. I used an ink blending tool to color all of these succulents quickly. (please see the supply list for all of the ink colors)

IMG_9829

I enjoy fussy cutting and these succulents didn’t take me that long. The Peace was embossed with silver embossing powder and glued to some fun foam. The succulents were embossed in silver embossing powder.

IMG_9830

The background is the best wood grain stamp I have seen called, “Wood Pallet” I stamped it with grey distress ink on some kraft cardstock. The holly is from this die cut.

IMG_9839

I stamped and embossed the pagoda a few times with the silver. I pieced parts of the pagoda together to make it taller to fit the scale of my wreath. Glossy accents were added to the windows of the pagoda.

IMG_9841

I took this photo so you can see what succulent from the stamp set I used.
IMG_9781

Here is a bonus ornament, tag or I could put it on a card. I am thinking maybe using that woodgrain stamp for a background. Don’t you feel like you could use more hours in the day?

GIVEAWAY: I am giving away the Paper Smooches Holly die cut PLUS a goodie bag. Just leave me a comment on my blog and say hi. I will announce a random winner next Monday.

Thanks for your visit today and have a great weekend! Hugs, Kathy

I love this wreath Kathy! Love how the silver embossing just sets is all off, just gorgeous. I’ve received my November kit, haven’t had a chance to play with it, but after I get my Christmas cards completed, I plan to play some. I make all of the same design, make about 70 cards, all the same design. I have a weekend of inking and stamping going on here, at least that is what I’ve planned. I’m also hosting Thanksgiving next week, and yep, still working. I’m still trying to adjust to not having my bro on earth, I know he’s in heaven, but I find myself bursting into tears a few times a day. I’m still “coloring” as I watch TV most evenings, keeps me calm. Thanks for getting me interested in adult coloring books. Thanks for all that you do, inspiring us crafty folk.

It amazes me that you can come up with something every day. My mind doesn’t work that fast! You make such beautiful things and I want to copy you all the time . Please enter me into your giveaway. I love the idea of the succulents in the wreath. I like making wreath cards for the holidays and other occasions as well but I don’t think I would have thought to use that. Thanks for all your inspiration .

BEAUTIFUL inking, GORGEOUS wreath and VERY CLEVER design – LOVE IT ALL!!! This really is a FABULOUS set Kathy – YOU should be VERY PROUD!!! I’m thinking this would be a great project for me to practice my ink blending and I could enjoy some fussy cutting time while watching a bit of Dr Who => THANK YOU for sharing 🙂

I love what you did with the wreath! How cool is that? I always love all the stuff you do, don’t I? Fussy cutting is what you call it? I call it I don’t have a die cutter so if I want anything like this, I need to use scissors! LOL
You said to just pop in and say HI so that’s what I’m doing, popping in and saying HI!

Hi! This is so unexpected, but amazing. I absolutely love the woodgrain background for this, and you are right, it is an amazing woodgrain background! I got so tickled the other day with my 5 year-old grandgirl. She is making Christmas cards for her family, and HAD to add a straw background for a manger stamp she colored! (It actually looked really cool when we taped it all together!) She has a 59 year head start on me in card crafting! What will she do when she’s my age????

Howdy. Haven’t been around for a few. Putting central Aire in our very 1st home is taking all my blog stalking and crafting time away from me.
I am nuts about that stamp set. I got hooked on it 1st time I seen it. Such a cute and versatile set.
I too enjoy fussy cutting. Most people despise doing it anymore, hence all the die cut machines. Which are super awesome too don’t get me wrong, but also pricey, well for my budget anyway.
Your so creative. Love your coloring.
