Ornaments in an Ornament – My Monthly Hero

MMH_logo_1000x1197

IMG_0440

Hello Friends, How is your week going? Today I have another card to share with you using the stamp set I created with Hero Arts for the November “My Monthly Hero Kit”. If you missed my other post about the kit click here. Click here for some of the dies that aren’t included in the kit.

Using the stamp set to create a holiday card was my goal for today. After stamping and cutting out the circles the fun begins. First I used some distress ink trying to keep the outside edge darker. Then I used Tim Holt’s “Damask” embossing folder. I rubbed some white ink on the raised parts and then I added Glossy Accents on top of the white ink. I love how it turned out with so much texture and I can’t wait to use this technique again.

IMG_0435

Just some coloring. I stamped two of these succulents & colored them with the reverse colors.

IMG_0436

Both were coated with Rock Candy and I cut apart the bottom succulent so I can stick in one of the tiny ornaments I created.

IMG_0437

I put my flower soft in a container to fluff it up then put some Glossy Accents on the paper. Sprinkle the flower soft on the paper and pat it down gently. Shake off the access and set it aside to dry.

IMG_0438

The top of the mini ornament was cut down to fit the small circle. I found some jewelry making wire I had & glued it to the back of the ornaments.

It’s so fun to have some time to fuss over a card and layer it up with some fun coloring. I hope you get some crafty time. Thanks so much for your visit today. Hugs, Kathy

I just adore your creative genius. I love that you tend to add butterflies and just for that moment, I know my mom is around watching over with her own wings. I plan to put these wonderful images on wine/water glasses for a friend. I love the ornaments within the ornament. A most brilliant idea, from a brilliant and wonderful artist. Thank you for sharing. ~M~

Oh my gosh! This is way to cute! Why do all the stamp companies come out with such amazing stamps and I don’t make enough money to afford them all? LOL It looks so nice the way you did it.
I got my package today and I absolutely love it! I can’t believe it came so soon! The Power Poppy stamp is one I was thinking of getting and I love it! Thank you for the beautiful card you made me! I am going to put it on our mantel so everyone can see it and admire it. I can’t wait for everyone to see all the great stuff I won. My mailbox was really happy today because I got a present and I didn’t get any bills! Thank you again! I wish we lived close to each other so we could be friends and stamp together.

Hola, Kathy! Como estas? I have a quick question for you. As we all know, you are wonderfully talented and creative. Your projects always leave me stunned and giving you accolades in Spanish. My question (mi pregunta): From start to finish, how long does it take you to finish a card? Hours? Minutes? A day? I’m just curious because it seems to take me forever to finish one card (usually a few days) and mine are no where are awesome as yours. Just curious, Kathy. Thanks for all of the inspiration that you give. When I grow-up I wanna be like you. =)

There are so many factors that influence the time it takes to make a card. I’d guess 2-5 hours depending on the intricacy of what I want to achieve. I don’t know of a card that took me minutes. LOL Have fun! 🙂
